Last week @davidsikula and I said our sudden goodbyes to our sweet girl Ebi🐈. Despite getting a clean bill of health just a few months prior, an x-ray and ultrasound revealed an aggressive cancer that affected multiple organs. Due to her age, surgery and chemo weren’t viable options, so we made the heartbreaking decision to let her go before her condition worsened. 💔💔
My heart has exploded into a million pieces because it had been filled with more love than it could handle by this 7lb ginger tiger. I’m beyond grateful for every second of the 19 years we had together.
Thank you Ebi for making every day a little sweeter. You were there for life’s milestones, curveballs, and witnessed my most joyful moments and my ugliest cries. Thank you for letting me accost you on a daily basis with my unrelenting affection. You kept me on my toes as you oscillated between cuddly and apathetic (in fact, you had us convinced that you might’ve been deaf, but you were actually just ignoring us 🙉).
Right now, I can’t help but look for you in all your favourite spots, and can still hear your tiny footsteps patrolling the house. But I also see you in beautiful orange hues wherever I go. 🧡 Rest easy Ebs, I love and miss you more than words can express 🤍🌈 @ebi.sunomono Sept 10, 2006-Nov 6, 2025

Do you know that there are 3️⃣choruses and an outro for “It’s De-Lovely”? Well, 🎹 @raygallon and I recorded it! 💿 When I was 16, I was in the musical “Anything Goes” in Kingston, Ontario, Canada ⛵️and absolutely fell in love with Cole Porter (and also fell in love with a cast member but that’s another story!).
From that experience, I started sneaking into jazz gigs at 🍻 bars and 🎱pool halls, fan-girling senior citizens 👴🏼in the local big band 🎷 🎺 , and obsessing about Porter’s music and lyrics.

This guitar was meticulously rescued/restored originally by @paulpigat who did an incredible job. I'm not going to lie - it's a lot of guitar to deal with and it demands I stay on top of my sh*t... but I'm up for the challenge & in it for the long haul.
