She's 9 years old. And she already knows what she wants to change. đź’›
Meet Chizara, our very first DO Young GDC Advocate and she walked into our office with one mission: get every girl back to school.
What made this moment unforgettable? Her father walked in right beside her. Supporting every word she said.
Because behind every young girl who believes she can change the world, there's someone who told her she could.
Join Chizara to:
âś… Amplify young voices for quality education
âś… Push for governments to fund girls' futures

We talk about changing the world. We post about equality. We celebrate women who’ve made it. But how many of us are actively fighting for the girls who never got the chance to make it at all?
Girls’ education is not a charity issue. It is a justice issue. It is an economic issue. It is a human rights issue. And it deserves to be treated with the same urgency and fire that we bring to every other issue we care about.
Let’s stop waiting for someone else to fix it. Be louder. Give more. Support organizations on the ground. Challenge the opinions of people in your life who think a girl’s education is optional. Normalize ambition in girls. Celebrate it. Feed it.
She has every right to be in that classroom. Every right to that degree. Every right to that career, that platform, that seat at the table.
Give her her flowers while she’s still growing. 🌺

Happy International Day of Education! 🎓
At DO, we believe education must be shaped with young people, not just for them.
Through our “Reclaiming Education” Project, we are advocating for policy shifts and accessible learning pathways that ensure motherhood isn't the end of a girl’s journey.
Join us as we strengthen re-entry pathways. Driven by @data4dev we are committed to turn evidence into action.

Taking Action on International Day of Education 2026 🎓
The Power of Transformative Education
As part of my commitment to Quality Education (SDG 4), I engaged with students of Christ Redeemer’s College, Ugbokolo, Benue State, sharing a conviction I strongly believe the world must embrace: education must be transformative, not just informative.
I challenged students to rethink education beyond literacy and certificates.
Education that stops at reading and writing often fails to prepare young people to solve real-world problems, adapt to change, and live purpose-driven lives.
We had honest conversations about their future—what they want to become and, more importantly, why. Too many young people are pushed into careers shaped by parental expectations or social labels, rather than their strengths, interests, and calling.
I encouraged them to take ownership of their journey by:
• Understanding their strengths and weaknesses
• Identifying the true source of their passion
• Recognizing that while pain may ignite purpose, knowledge and community sustain it
I concluded with four anchors for life and learning:
God
Themselves
Humanity
Their Purpose
This is the essence of Transformative Education—education that shapes character, unlocks potential, and empowers young people to live meaningful lives.
Education is not just about certificates.
It is about transformation.

Happy International Education Day 2026 🎓
Yesterday, I spoke at a virtual panel on “The State of Education in Nigeria and the Impact Individuals Can Bring.”
One question stood out:
“What moment made you decide not to wait for someone else to fix education?”
For me, it was a community outreach with secondary school students.
One student asked:
“Sir, why are we taught so much theory we will never use?”
That question revealed a painful truth: our system often prioritizes memorization over meaning, certificates over competence.
Since then, I’ve committed to:
• Bridging learning with real-world relevance
• Advocating learner-centered, transformative education
• Supporting young people through mentorship and digital skills
Education must go beyond exams—it should unlock potential and prepare young people for life.
Action for this week:
Join or organize a community learning session focused on transformative education.
Quality education is not just a policy goal—it is a lived responsibility.

In celebration of World Teachers’ Day 2025, i visited Lizdav Academy to engage teachers in a Digital Literacy and Wellness Workshop, helping them build digital confidence while promoting wellbeing in the classroom.
The day continued with sports, laughter, and an award recognizing the school’s most inspiring teacher, a reminder that when teachers thrive, students soar. 💜📚

WAEC penalizes schools for malpractice, reinforcing examination integrity.
The West African Examinations Council has revoked the licences of 574 secondary schools in Nigeria. The examination body also stated that the schools will not be allowed to conduct examinations even as the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, commences from Thursday, April 24, 2025. This was disclosed by the Head of WAEC’s National Office, Dr. Amos Dangut, during a press briefing on Thursday at the headquarters of the examination body in Lagos.
WAEC’s proactive stance against examination malpractice is laudable. By enforcing penalities on institutions involved in malpractices, the council sends a strong message that academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. This approach not only discourages malpractice but also pushes schools to put better systems in place and promote honesty during exams. Ultimately, these efforts help maintain the credibility and value of WAEC certificates, ensuring that students are judged fairly based on merit, not on shortcuts or manipulation.
