It’s been almost a week and I still can’t get over Evan and her performance at her Level 6 Maryland State Competition this past weekend! I can’t explain how proud I am of her. She is beyond passionate about this sport and I’m so happy we can support her! All that flipping around that house has paid off! 🖤🖤🖤 And a big shoutout to @thrivegymmd for being the absolutely best gym we could ask for!

For this edition, we’re creating space specifically for women artists to connect, share work, and discuss the realities of building a creative practice.
Bring a piece of your work and join the conversation around topics like pricing artwork, refining your style, framing and presentation, creating prints, and finding the best ways to get your work seen.
The Artist Development Lab is meant to be an open forum for learning, resource sharing, and networking with fellow creatives.

My cup is overflowing. I did my first photoshoot tonight with my friends for my artwork and am over the moon about it. I can’t wait to share this work with you. We went on a museum field trip to the @baltimoremuseumofart to view American Sublime by @asherald . I walk into the gallery and after about 10 mins I have this overwhelming feeling. It’s peace, it’s gratitude, it’s awe. I realized it was the first time I had been to see a collection of this size and caliber that featured all Black people - Black people just as they are in their everyday lives. Amy Sherald has done an amazing job at showcasing Black faces as a thread in the quilt of this country. Her technique and skill are crazy and her ability to capture simple moments that feel so defined is beyond.
I am so grateful for this body of work and for the company of @sugar_farm and @amyraab.photography - I’m so happy to have shared this moment with you two.

Meet Darin Michelle (@darinmichelle ) ✨
A mixed media artist from Annapolis, Darin’s work explores identity, political movement, and the deep human need for simplicity and rest — expressed through bold color and gritty, layered texture shaped by street art and underground culture.
Raised by a jazz musician, creative expression and improvisation have always been part of her language.
Music still drives her process — from jazz and house to neo-soul, hardcore, and hip-hop — along with the raw honesty of skate culture and ’90s counterculture scenes where authenticity mattered more than perfection.
Her process is intuitive and deeply present. She approaches the canvas as a ritual space — listening, responding, letting the materials lead.
The result is work that balances intensity with stillness, structure with freedom.
