The Batman: Dark Patterns tpb is out today from @dccomics . From me, @cleanlined , @treebeeshere , @gofrankgo , @garbagedracula . Who is the Wound Man? What is the voice in the tower? Have the Red Hood Gang truly returned? And why is Gotham burning? The Dark Detective is on the case.

DC solicits are out, revealing that the legendary Denys Cowan @denyscowanart is joining Nightwing as our ongoing artist with #136. A brand new mystery. A brand new Bludhaven. And the covers by @jorgefornes are going to blow you away. I'm so excited for this new arc.

🚨 RESTOCK ALERT 🚨 🦇 Our Winnetka location just got a HUGE restock of the BATMAN: DARK PATTERNS Complete Collection! 👉 Don’t sleep on this one! Grab yourself a copy before they disappear again. . . . 🦇 BATMAN: DARK PATTERNS TP ⌨️ @danpgwatters 🎨 @cleanlined 🔵 @dccomics "A series of four self-contained, street -level, evergreen Batman mysteries exploring the early days of Batman’s place within Gotham City and his healing presence within its streets. Batman: Dark Patterns is a grounded, mystery-driven series set in the early days of Batman’s career, echoing the tone and style of classics such as The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, and Hush. Written by Dan Watters, with art by Hayden Sherman, each three-part story is a self-contained detective case rooted in the trauma and transformation of Gotham’s people and cityscape. Emphasizing Batman’s role as a methodical sleuth and shadowy symbol of hope, the series avoids cosmic or supernatural elements in favor of lo-fi, solvable mysteries that showcase the Dark Knight as a healer cloaked in darkness. Batman: Dark Patterns is our Graphic Novel Pick of the Week. 🦇 A grounded return to the early days of Gotham’s Dark Knight, this one trades cosmic spectacle for street-level mystery, shadowy detective work, and the slow, haunted healing of a broken city. If you love The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, or Hush, this is absolutely one to track down. #RevengeOf #GraphicNovelPick #Batman #DCComics #ComicShop

Batman: Dark Patterns by Dan Watters and Hayden Sherman is here. A dark, street-level Batman story built around mystery, shadow, and the early days of Gotham’s most relentless detective. Dan Watters leans hard into noir, Hayden Sherman’s artwork really makes this one feel haunting; sharp, atmospheric, and full of menace in all the right ways. If you like your Batman grim, strange, and drenched in shadow, this is essential. One for fans of detective-first Gotham stories with a genuinely unsettling edge. Available now in paperback. I’ve always thought that David Fincher’s Se7en is the closest we’d get to a truly dark ‘Batman’ story, and then they did this…

I’m calling it now. Batman: Dark Patterns by @dccomics is going to end up in the same conversation as Batman: Year One, Batman: Hush, and Batman: The Long Halloween. This is the greatest Batman comic you probably have not read yet. I got to interview @danpgwatters and completely geek out over how much I loved this book, and now I’m hoping I get the chance to talk to @cleanlined too because their art deserves to be seen in the biggest format possible. Deluxe Edition. Absolute Edition. Billboard on the side of a building. Whatever works. Dark Patterns is made up of four self contained but loosely connected mysteries that push Batman to his limit. Gotham feels alive here. It changes, it fights back, it infects the people inside it. You get unforgettable new villains like the Wound Man, an early version of the Red Hood Gang, and a younger Batman who has nobody to rely on except himself. No Bat Family. No safety net. Just Bruce trying to survive Gotham before Gotham swallows him whole. The collected edition drops next week, and I want more people reading this book because if it does well maybe we get more stories, maybe we get that oversized edition, and maybe more people realize this is one of the best Batman books in years. GIVEAWAY TIME: I’m giving away a copy of the collected edition from @panelboundcomics to someone in the continental United States when it releases. To enter: 1. Follow me 2. Like this post 3. Comment with your favorite Batman story 4. Tag a friend who needs to read this book
