kali malone will present an electronic set at this year's full of lava. as much as I adore her organ pieces, the electronic solo of hers was ever so fetching and beautiful, making for one of my fav concert experiences last year
~how dissapointing, sad and small-minded* that some of the politicians in bern don’t understand the value of a multidisciplinary venue for experimental art and discourse that @dampfzentrale_bern is and its importance for a place that also calls itself a city and capital
~the courage, quality, radiation, beauty and political as well as meaning-making worth of the artistic works shown at dampfzentrale was the reason I moved to bern 6years ago in the first place and why I and all the people working at dz are investing a major amount of thought, energy and time into this place
~how the heck can this not be seen and
grasped by politicians and media??
~if you haven’t heard yet: the contract of @dampfzentrale_bern is coming to an end by 2027 and the venue as it is now might not exist anymore

*I have exchanged the initially used term 'provincial' for 'small-minded', as I feel like it better captures what I mean to express and I don't want to bash areas outside of cities (although there are reasons to do so in some ways). What I wish for cities is that they remain places of urban friction and open-mindedness that for me often is transmitted and accelerated through experimental art and music ~ from Switzerland but also from outside of it. And I do feel like the current strategy of the city of Bern is not really seeing and supporting that (which also shows in the ending of other very important places for diverse and niche music).
