Link in my bio: I had the pleasure to sit down with Candace Hansen for the L.A. Times on the occasion of Max’s return to the L Word Generation Q. We got into all kinds of things like punk, trans and queer story telling, being a trans actor, and what it was like 17 years ago vs now. And more! Find the link in my bio. This moment would never be happening if not for my friends’ care and belief in me. There are many to name but for now I’ll keep it connected to this article itself. I walked 4 miles on my new hip joint today. Started at Oakland City Hall along with my friends and sangha of @ebmc_oakland as part of the interfaith pilgrimage to Oakland airport to demand an arms embargo on apartheid israel and for Oakland to stop its complicity: letting and profiting from arms being shipped out of its airport and port. Palestine will be free. None of us are free until we are all free. #i4ppilgrimage2026

“We never know how our small activities will affect others through the invisible fabric of our connectedness. In this exquisitely connected world, it’s never a question of critical mass. It’s always about critical connections.” Grace Lee Boggs. dancing dust reflecting the prism of color projected by the glass of the window in the morning sunlight; when I opened my eyes this morning this is what I saw/experienced.

A dear friend of mine passed over to the other side recently. Her name was Barbara. I keep thinking how lucky I am to have adventured to magic realms with this gorgeous spirit! I wish we had had more time for sleepovers, singing, journeying in other realms, laughing, talking, cooking for each other, hanging out with her family and grandchild Merlin. Life is precious. The friendship we have still brings me so much joy and laughter, amidst the tears. I wish everyone could be so lucky to know her, those that did understand how precious her sweetness, depth and loyalty were for this earth. I feel her love in my heart as I write this. And I wanted to share about her to my friends and community here. Barbara is legendary. 1. Me and Barbara on the train platform waiting for her train 2. In Barbara’s garden under a willow tree playing music with Carlos 3. Barbara and I after a night of singing. 4. A brunch I made for Barbara 5. Her waking up at my place after a sleepover. 6. 3 friends. 7. On a road trip with Barbara and her grandchild Merlin.

My trans siblings: I adore you! I believe in you. I love you. I am here rooting for you every day. I want to see you surrounded by love from within and from without. Thanks to you I am here, feeling at home on Earth. I am lucky to be surrounded by love. I want to surround each of you with love too. I am very lucky to be in your company. I owe you my very life, without you I would literally not be here or be me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Together we are liberating ourselves from the chains of oppressive forces, and reminding each other of what we are truly made of: Love! Mother Earth loves us and and is the physical manifestation of the cosmic force, (call Them what you will) who brought us here for the task of shining our special light, to stand up for each other and for all beings, and to work towards the liberation of all beings in all worlds. This week I am recovering from hip replacement surgery, and I feel so lucky to be cared for by my loved ones! Here are some photos from my life, which today, thanks to you, is a trans life that is worth living. I wanted to share a few photos of some of the folks who love me, and respect me, use he/him/Daniel and inspire me to be all of who I am. There are more not pictured here. I am not sharing photos of all the kids and young adults in my life that I love so much because I respect their right to privacy. But they are a huge part of my life and who I am today. Helping raise kids as an uncle and godparent these past 30+ years has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. 1. Recovering from surgery with my chosen family 2. Little Daniel with real sword age 7. 3. Me and my new nephew 4. My sweetheart Laura and I at the hot springs 5. My friend Barbara and I after a psychedelic night in ceremony. May she rest in peace. 6.my friends Sônia Guajajara and Raimunda in Vienna some years ago 7. Caught in the rain with my friends Maria and Julischka (not seen here) 8. With my friends after Soñ’s show. 9. Christmas celebration at Faris’ house 10. Pride with Laura and her friends who welcomed me in so kindly The rest of the photo descriptions in the comments.

LA history, U-Haul, and a food rec with @danielsea . This U-Haul key pick-up in Pasadena is at an actual Alta Dena dairy drive-through. There used to be many of them all over Los Angeles. It’s so cool, and this one still operates. I read a little about the owner of the original Alta Dena dairy, who campaigned for raw milk back in the day. I do love raw milk, but that’s for a different day. Everyone knows the best way to make moving day a little easier, is to break it up with a delicious meal. #smallbusinesslosangeles #pollospuebla1

Update: I have postponed the December 3 in person class until January 21 2026. ::: I’m teaching another round of my visioning and visual journaling workshop on Saturday December 6 (online) & December 3, (in person in the SF bay area/East Bay.) + This generative workshop was designed for trans, non-binary, and queer folk to gather to gain practical tools to articulate and envision a roadmap for our lives and creative projects. Both imaginative and practical, the workshop will explore approaches that I use as a self-employed artist to define goals for my work and put them into action. Using a range of prompts in drawing, writing, visual mapping, and calendaring, together each participant will articulate and explore methods for turning inspiration into action by defining, prioritizing, and breaking down goals into workable steps. The first two workshops in September were a powerful experience for me and folks seemed to really enjoy taking part! Allies welcome sliding scale $75-$200 ✨Saturday December 6 (online) 11am Pacific/2pm EST/5pmUK/7pm CET Zoom

Trans and Queer liberation means liberation for each one of us. No one is free until we all are free. Repost from @adalahjusticeproject • The past two years of Israel’s U.S.-funded genocide in Gaza have been met with outrage and dissent from LGBTQ+ communities here and globally making the sentiment clear: there is no pride in genocide. The fight for queer and trans liberation is the same fight against the war machine that is killing our communities here at home, in Palestine, and across the world. With the ceasefire in its early stages, war crimes still taking place, accountability of war criminals still unchecked, and divestments still to be made, our work is not finished and so we remain committed to the struggle. It is our responsibility to continue to push our organizations and institutions to divest from weapons manufacturers and interests that are invested in genocide, settler colonialism and apartheid. By coming out loud and proud in support of Palestinian liberation and against genocide and militarism, we stand on the shoulders of our queer and trans elders and carry on their tradition of fighting against injustice in all its forms. Join us in taking action today by speaking up, holding LGBTQ+ organizations accountable, and demanding Congress block the bombs to Israel. Freedom, equality, and justice for our queer and trans siblings here can only be achieved when we collectively confront the systems that are harming communities everywhere. Artwork by @bint.bandora
