https://show.clientside.services Just going to leave this here planning something fun in London around late September early October. Submission details hidden behind a purposefully awkward interaction. I'm still exploring how far I can push the interaction so a couple of bugs and polly will be squashed and added x

Art Direction, Design, and Build for the new @imagine.ldn website, creative direction and identity by consistently excellent, always on-point @celibatewives . With a client-first focus, micro-interactions and alt structures provide some friction to this site, the majority of the work can be found in thumbnail format on the client page, with the main portfolio presented in a collections format. All tied together by poetic prompt-based image descriptors tied to computer vision to create a unified texture between many clients and styles. Rotating studio copy from @hiowlix

One from a couple of years ago, this site for boutique post-production company Bouchon Studio is one of my favourites a simple concept of timeline as site, there are a ton of micro-interactions under the hood from the audio that fades and muffles when a page is open as a kind of auditory metaphor, to the click on the playlist being ripped from the original iPod.

Doing some archive work today and got a little nostalgic for these two simple portfolio/link-list sites from a few years ago. Both were initially conceived and built within a few hours with the idea of just having a simple “trick or interaction” to help add a feeling to a small amount of content. 🔗 / @aylaangelos site uses a slightly different interaction from the basic hover effect, where the site constantly checks what is under the cursor. This way, you get an amped-up flickering of article images on the scroll. 🔗 / @bryonystone site rewards viewers for exploring by changing, hiding and redacting depending on what and where you hover.

This is a website I launched at the end of last year, for production company @parkpictures With this site, I ran with the visual motif of a camera-pulling focus, which is used throughout the site, from page transitions and navigation coming into focus. A really clear moment of this is on this scrollable navigation at the bottom of the expanded video player, where the active video blurs and the navigation comes into focus as if you have shifted the focal plane from background to foreground.

I was reminiscing with a friend about old projects the other week, which reminded me of this interactive article I did for @itsnicethat back in 2018 for an interview with @tracy_ma . At that time (and still today), I loved her work at Bloomberg and the New York Times, playing with the concepts of what design for the press could be. With that in mind, an interactive article about Tracy at the time felt like the perfect homage.

Some behind the scenes testing footage from an in store web game I created whalst working at @anywayscreative for @depop at @theofficialselfridges back in 2019. The games used QR codes and WebSockets to turn phones in to controllers.

A website for @londonshortfilmfest with a ton of micro interactive details, from random rotation everywhere to jiggling numbers and a filter system resembling old punk posters. 🔗 .uk/ Graphic Design: @stephenrossi_ Illustrations: @emmadragovic
