Such a beautiful night and week of recording. This turned into quite a special, poignant community event and I’m proud of it, frankly!
The gratitudes for last week are abundant and diverse, so I’m just going to let some of them rip publicly if any of you are interested. No presh. The photos are cool too! My dad took most of them.
✨ The
@freshgrassfoundation and
@studio9porches . Hope to see you all down the line. Thank you Sue for expressing interest, believing in my art, and for the wonderful convos; John for the hospitality and for helping run things so smoothly; Patrick for your excellent and joyful work; special shoutout to Sören (
@sorensmedvig )for his highly-skilled and dedicated engineering - such a pleasure to work with you.
✨ My collaborators Chris and Alex. I always get choked up in public when giving my proper thanks to your whole-hearted dedication to me and my music. I’m in awe of your talents. A little embarrassing, but what’s the point if not this kind of thing. Time moves forward and the time-accrued grows, and it all just becomes a bit more profound. Grateful to add to the lore, broken windshields included. Now this is starting to feel like a yearbook dedication hahaha. I think it was my grammatical decision to address people directly. Well I’m too far in and I can’t stop now.
✨ Ben Jaffe - an unforgettable and moving set of music, tbh. Everyone get in there on Ben’s music (
@benjaminjaff.e ) if you haven’t already, unless deep songwriting and musicianship just isn’t your bag. There is a book coming soon, yes a book. Thank you for hopping in on some tune-age, as well. Grateful for your support.
✨Ciarra - thank you for singing with me and for the radio spot! 91.1! Visit her first art show in NA - 49 Main St. in North Adams!
@ciarra.mp3
✨Dad - thank you for taking these photos of the show and for the gear and the homecooking (sister as well, thank you) and the tupperware ;)
✨To all those who came out to hear us play these new works. A lot of faces from my childhood. To feel support from your hometown is grounding and empowering, so thank you.
Looking forward to sharing the work!
Cheers,
Dan
