I’ve been working alongside Craig Taubman for almost 5 years now, mostly with the Pico Union Project, a mutual aid and community resource center downtown he and his wife Louise founded (that’s also a beautiful concert venue. ) A few months ago we were sharing some frustrations around conversations in the Jewish community that seemed to begin and end with antisemitism. Craig asked me to help write a song that could speak to something welcoming and more outward facing to commemorate Passover, which starts today. Lots to chop up when it comes to this holiday but I’d say you could leave it at moving from narrow mindedness to the open unknown and acknowledging the suffering of others dang AND welcoming the stranger and you’d have a good start. We recorded it with a bunch of premium shredders at @swandivestudios , the hottest joint in town. His heater of a solo instrumental record in collab with @aycarambarecords and my long-clung to project with dear @theokatzman and @10goodsongs . The theater is small so we’re doing 2 nights. Feb - NY and MA Love Behj

January Shows - taking up residence at Healing Force of The Universe with a quick jump to Healdsburg to play one of the great venues of the North, Little Saint. Not gonna play the same set each time so don’t freak out. The 10th is with @el_tee_music and @lucyclearwater . I don’t think Lily has ever played in LA and its unclear when she’ll play here again, she lives in New York and it seems like she’s got a lot going on there. You should come see her while you can and be welcoming, she’s one of the best singer/songwriters I’ve heard. We need to keep this LA/NY love going. Lucy is playing her gorgeous music too and I imagine you know her already, she’s a queen of the scene. I’m very happy to be honkin’ out a couple in support of these two. The 22nd is up in Northern CA at @littlesainthealdsburg , if you live around there and havent been you should go, its an incredible venue. The food the vibe and the people running it. Even if @drewtaubenfeld and I suck itll be worth it but we won’t. We’re going to kick ass and do some version of what we’ve been doing for 15 years. The 24th is back at Healing Force with the great @joel.p.west . I’ve never met Joel but we have so many friends in common that I feel a lot of pressure to get along with him. Heh just kidding Joel, I can’t wait to hang and get to hear you play. Thank you so much for having me. The 25th is a bluegrass night so lucky for the audience I won’t be playing much, just singing a few songs and marveling at the Glendale Jammers, my bluegrass idols.

Back from Australia with the gang, turns out I love it there. Thanks to the whole @spaceykacey crew for being just a wonderful bunch and honorable mention to the members of #SouthernRosanne (even though you all keep dressing like me )and KM for taking us on these beautiful journeys.
