Das Foto ist Teil der Serie „März/April 2020“, welche während des ersten harten Lockdowns im und aus dem Wohnraum des Künstlers heraus entstand. // Kunst und Natur sind seit Jahrhunderten eng miteinander verwoben. Die Darstellung der Natur hat sich allerdings in den vergangenen Jahren in ihrer Bedeutung, Wahrnehmung und Repräsentation gewandelt, welches auch von zeitgenössischen Künstler*innen reflektiert wird. Vor diesem Hintergrund präsentieren MARSANO und Rosenbaum Art Advisory rund 30 künstlerische Positionen mit jeweils einem Werk bis 1000€, die sich dem Thema auf vielseitige Weise und in unterschiedlichen Medien widmen. Daniel Poller ‚Frankfurter Kopien‘ May 31 — June 16, 2024 Opening: May 31, 5 — 8 pm @fstop_leipzig English version below Zwischen 2012 und 2018 wurde die sogenannte ‚Neue Altstadt’ in Frankfurt am Main gebaut. Dabei waren alte Steinelemente (Spolien) und ein Farbleitplan basierend auf historisierenden Fassadenfarben die Gestaltungselemente, die in der die Planungs- und Bauzeit begleitenden publizistischen Debatte entweder als Kronzeugen historischer Authentizität oder als deren Persiflage gelesen wurden. Frankfurter Kopien bringt Fotografien jeder Spolie und die Farben des jeweiligen Gebäudes durch Überdrucken und manuelle Eingriffe zusammen. In der Galerie Tobias Naehring wird nun erstmalig eine größere Auswahl dieser Arbeiten gezeigt. Here, two design features—old stone elements (spolia) and a chromatic master plan based on a reconstruction of the historical colours of the façades—were used as prime evidence of historical authenticity in the debates that raged in the newspapers as the construction work proceeded. However, these design elements were in many cases read as pastiche, as the only role these quotations play here is to suggest a linear historical thread intended to forge a sense of identity. Frankfurt Copies uses overprinting and manuell alterations to pair up photographs of all the spolia used in constructing Frankfurt’s Neue Altstadt with the colours of the particular building. For the first time Galerie Tobias Naehring is going to exhibit a wider selection of the work.
