Come listen to Gerdy, Carolyn and I talk with Kate about bad work, good work and being best buds for 20+ years! Then, bring your own supplies and make some bad art with us after at Honest Friend Brewing! Next Saturday at 12:30!
What IS bad art? On March 21, our artists in residence will share thoughts on this topic and a little about their own work. Then, we’ll invite audience members to take part in a “bad” art-making contest (optional…but encouraged). The winner will get a trophy created by Dan!
Info & Criteria
🔸 This event is free and open to the public.
🔸 Some basic art supplies will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own. Can be any form of 2D media but please clean up and no glitter/confetti.
🔸 The art must be made during the event.
🔸 We’ll have @smokedonhighbbq from 12-5, so grab lunch on your way in!
Artist talk will go from 12:30-1ish, contest from 1-2:30ish, judges (artists in residence + Kate) will decide and give out the award at 3.
Making “bad” art is fun! It gives your brain a chance to let go of rigidity and just enjoy the process. For example, I broke our design conventions and drew our characters in two minutes for this poster. It was enjoyable.
