I have said, and will say again, that Maroon Arts Group is the reason I am an artist to begin with. Four years ago, in this container, I saw the Walt Neil exhibition and it was art like i had never seen before. It stuck with me. Since then, Maroon was the very place where art “happened” for me , and they’ve extended opportunities that kept my practice alive. Without MAG my fire would’ve burned out years ago.
I am grateful to be able to say that since the beginning of 2025 I’ve been interning at Maroon Arts Group alongside my brother and sisters , and I learned something new every day I was there. Most notably, the importance of structure and the true responsibility of artists.
Id like to thank Maroon arts group for this show, alongside all of the opportunities they’ve have given me over the last years. Id rly like to thank Marshall, Sheri, and Rod(
@madebycrimes ) for being amazing mentors and teachers, their wisdom will always be appreciated and internalized.
And most importantly I want to thank my big brother and sisters, Ky, Ayat, Imara, and Iyana for helping me navigate this project, and proposing I be apart of it in the first place. They taught me so much about education, structure, and art,and looked out for me in ways I’ve never been looked out for. I will remember them always.
“Where we bloom” Will be on display at the MPACC box park all through Mid June ,please see my friends amazing works if your around.
Many more shows to come 🫶🏽🤞🏽.
