Been on the bike a bit last week, did a 100k route via the ridge way to Avebury and back. Nice off-road trail but very bumpy in parts. Then went to the new forest to recce a route for @trekbikesbicester Gravel ride on the 17th May. Went down to London to see friends, family and eat some good food. Plus managed to get some old footage of me on a bike as my dad has been getting some old tapes digitised.

Sun is out that means the Easter weekend was spent on the two wheels. Got the big rig out for a day at Windhill bike park for a @trekbikesbicester@trekbikes_uk MTB meet up. Lots of fun on the trails and good to ride with new people, look forward to the next one. Then Monday decided to do a road ride to Henley on Thames which ended up being an 80km loop. My GPS took me down a shortcut which ended up turning into riding through a stream, luckily it was sunny so my cycling shoes were able to dry. Can’t wait for more time in the saddle this summer! Who’s up for a ride meet up?

How about the 20 year challenge! These were the only photos I could find on my hard drives from 2006, they were all lost from MySpace or stuck on old computers that died. The early 2000s were some fun years, spent a lot of this time going to see many bands and dreaming of being in a pop punk band! To this day I’m still watching bands I saw play 20 years ago and have built life time friendships via the music scene. These were the years before we had social media in our pockets and enjoyed the moment instead of sharing everything live.

Took the Trek Rail to Wind Hill and was having so much fun… until I wasn’t 🤦♂️ Climbs? Easy. Jumps? Fun. “Easy” section? Crashed it. Didn’t see a drop, landed funny, and hit the deck. But hey, if you don’t crash every now and then, are you even trying? 😅 Back up, back on, and back to having fun on the bike.

All the gear and no idea 🚴🏼🤷🏻♂️ love going out on the Trek Madone even though my legs can’t push it when it wants to go faster. Definitely running too high a tire pressure for these rubbish roads. Need to tell the Silca tire pressure calculator that I’m riding on cobbles.

The best time I have on two wheels is when they are off the ground. I’ve never really progressed with jumps but playing on the bigger table tops at phoenix bike park was so much fun. At first I was casing each one and by the end I was clearing them, felt weird having so much air time and being able to think while in the air. One day I’ll be able to do the big gap jumps. Last week @trekbikesbicester held their first weird and wonderful time trial event. I jumped on the back of a Trek fetch+2 with my @djiglobal osmo pocket 3 camera and filmed everyone doing a lap of the circuit. Lots of fun was had and look forward to next years!
