Tough one - 5 miles good tempo.
Supposed to be controlled - first mile too fast, and then I had to figure it out. You’d think after 20 years doing this experience would teach me a thing or two… but here we’re haha.
What creates the best pair of shorts?
Anti chafe? Pockets? Material? Weight? Price? All factors that I think can play a role
These shorts range from around £45 - £220 a pair 😬
I think the only way to create something better, or at least match a product etc. is to respect the other brands on the market. They’ve likely learnt something.
I did my best to find as many shorts as I could - some new, some Depop. Some Vinted. lol I’ve had a dms on those platforms “262 research” etc..
It’s not copying what others are doing, but research to see wha they’ve done well, or in some cases - what could be better.
I read reviews, forums etc - I think we’re getting there, and because our team is small, and marketing bill is small - our prices can remain materials focused, and so our prices only go up if we improve the material, or functionality of the shorts.
Check them out on 262clo.com - it’s been a lot of work, but when I go watch london marathon and see thousands of our shorts out there - I’ll know it was worth it.
Keep building on last weeks hard work - or we lose it.
Start fresh and start building towards something.
I’m not the type of person that wakes up everyday at 6am ready to win the day, and during most of my marathon build ups - Monday was always a coin toss if I’d keep going.
It was my job to start Monday well, and set the tone for the week, even if I didn’t feel as motivated as last week etc. motivation, thoughts, feelings etc.. they can change quite a lot, and so most of the time you’re just getting the work done, because if you wake up Wednesday and decide your goals are still worth pushing for etc.. make sure you haven’t lost two days.
I get to do this - never - I have to do this.
People likely start running for all kinds of reasons, but I’d imagine a large percentage keep going, because it helps keep the head in a good spot.
I know I do..
Thank you running.
Do one thing really well - dedicate yourself to your craft, and who knows how far you’ll go.
We make running shorts - with pockets.

Marathon training is as much about fuel as it miles etc.
Race day requires fuel, and if you don’t practice in training you won’t get the most out of your fitness on race day. It doesn’t mean you won’t or can’t run well on race day, but you’re likely leaving time on the table.
Fuelling allows you to keep going, and maintain a pace your fitness is ready for. Lack of fuelling and you’ll have to slow to a jog at best after 20 miles or so.
Super shoes have definitely helped, but runners should still be aiming to get at least 60 grams per hour in, and lots of athletes are starting to take 80-100grams an hour.
It’s not cheap tbf, but pick some Sunday long runs, or harder tempo sessions etc and tick a box that says “I practiced my fuelling etc”
Valentines sale - mix and match - men’s and women’s shorts / tights. You can mix and match or same pair. Use code “TWOPAIR” - 262CLO.COM

Ends Sunday 15th February.
14 miles - 9 miles warm up - 6 x 1km with 60 secs rest.
6.20-30 per mile I’d say for first 9 miles, then 4.50-5.00 per mile for 1km reps 3.00-3.05 per km. Heart rate hasn’t seen 185 for a while haha that’s for sure.. and hard to believe I ran 42.2km at 3.04 per km 🦁
Very very tough for me, but I remind myself that’s the work you must put in if you want to build the fitness.
Don’t get me wrong it’s lovely when you’re fully fit and those 6x 1km feel smooth at the end, but it’s impossible to get the fitness to that place without “work”.
Didn’t really need to fuel today, but it speeds up recovery quite a lot. 3 gels should help my body handle the effort a bit better and I won’t be as knackered as last week.
Another good Sunday ticked off.
