LIVE AND LET… What a whirlwind of a weekend. This piece was more than anything I could have dreamed of. An homage to theater history, an expression of the complexities of artists, a love letter to the stage. This was the first time in a long time that I stepped onto a stage and honestly enjoyed every beat and every part of me. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to close out my 4 years at Pace. Early this week, I got to step into the bright yellow overalls and lead a show. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be covering three male principles in a musical, let alone stepping in for four shows in two days. To the cast and crew, thank you for holding me with so much love and care. And to the audiences, you all are remarkable, your excitement made the work so much more exhilarating. And to the Jonathan Meza @kaibacat the groundwork you laid for this role made it possible. You are a genius and it was the biggest honor learning from you. Ten years ago, I got to see you play this role, and wrote you a letter about how much you inspired me. I hope I did you proud. @lagunaplayhouse @lythgoefamily

Back in LA and finding the love for exploring and excavating again. So many things I look at and don’t like, but it’s all a part of the journey. WOW, May was special. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my BFA in Commercial Dance and a minor in Psychology from Pace University. These past four years have been a whirlwind, but truly just a gift. I have met some of my favorite people and have friends that will last a lifetime. Throughout the month of May I performed in my final Dance Out Loud, performing choreography by @sjovo1 @neefash @boparkk and of course being a dance captain one last time for @lgfunk2 . I presented my Pforzheimer Honors College Thesis: The Intimacy of Dance; The Dance of Intimacy. To my cast of 39 incredible humans and artists, thank you for your trust, patience, perseverance, and dedication. Creating to original music by @colorbound was just the gift that keeps on giving, thank you for your ingenuity. To my family, thank you for all your support from the beginning. I wouldn’t be me without my mom, dad, or brother, I couldn’t have asked for better people to call my family. To @pacecommercialdance , thank you for being my family for the last four years. It was an honor to be among all the talented artists that I grew to love everyday. I will miss sharing the room with all of you, but I’m excited to look back on all the memories. -Jarod
