Dubai’s Iconic Half Marathon. @burj2burj From the outside it’s just a race. A bib number. A medal. A finish line photo. But anyone who trains properly knows it’s months of early alarms, split times, sore knees, heavy legs, and conversations that start with: “Today I averaged…” This one meant a lot. There’s something powerful about running through this city, the skyline waking up, the rhythm of shoes hitting the road, the silence in your own head once you settle into pace. No kitchen noise. No pressure. Just breath and discipline. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t effortless. But it was earned. Huge thank you to @theogcoach for the structure, the accountability, and the calm voice when I was convinced my pace wasn’t where it should be. The sessions, the long runs, the tweaks, the reminders to back off when needed, that guidance made the difference. And @prubirk Thank you for listening to far too many breakdowns of kilometre splits, heart rate zones, and “if I hold 5:20 I can…” conversations. For pretending to be interested when I re-ran the race before it even happened. For supporting every early morning and every carb-loaded dinner. Running teaches you a lot about yourself.
