At Northing, the solo exhibition by Qi Tan, “What’s Inside What’s Inside”, departs from the artist’s grandmother’s experience of a grotto in China. At Bergen Kunsthall the group exhibition, “Iter Subterraneum”, is inspired by Ludvig Holberg’s story of Nils Klim’s fall through a cave in Bergen, toward the center of the Earth. Playing on the synchronicity, a collaboratively curated screening of artists’ films weaves together both exhibitions’ mythology and the perennial appeal of the subterranean. Join us on February 12 at Landmark for an artist film screening delving into the central motif shared by both exhibitions: the cave as transitional space – between life and death, between the real and the speculated. During the evening, we will screen Qi Tan’s Silver Dragon (2024), Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, Dalena Tran and Andrew Yong Hoon Lee’s collaborative film, Quickly open your hand to free the light prisoner (2025), Of Other Tomorrows Never Known (2023) by Natasha Tontey, and Maya Watanabe’s Earthquakes (2017).

Today we’re launching Fuser. We built it so we could use AI better. Sometimes it feels like how we use AI — where it lives, what it’s for — is already decided. But that isn’t true. It’s more in flux than ever. We wanted flexibility to explore different aesthetics, versatility to make any kind of content, and the simplicity to stay in flow without friction. Fuser is artist-founded and artist-led — the platform we wanted for ourselves, and think you’ll want too. A creative workspace where ideas, and the experience of using AI, evolve. Every model. Every medium. One canvas. Go make something new. 💡

Last Saturday was a defining moment for Fuser. NEW SYNTAX was the first of many Fuser gatherings designed to deepen how we make, share, and understand our media culture. Curated by @alicescope , the symposium featured keynotes by @trevorpaglen , @jonrafman , @mayaontheinternet , and @wwwtinazone ; along with an evening program of performances by @portraitxo , @_ma_ral_ , and @exanima.obj ; and a showcase of fourteen Fuser residents: @__frijoles_ , @clmfrt , @exanima.obj , @hypereikon , @lloydgalbraith , @karinaxlllpz , @katie_torn , @nikvsio , @ninocence , @seungmin , @sstewrat , @theo.trian , @vora______ , and @wendiyan . Building a product and launching it is one thing. Having the people to help you get there is another. It takes courage to do something you normally wouldn’t, and to see it through. In the toxic landscape of Mipo, the primary visible flora are the plumi, characterized by their sessile nature and vibrant pink, spore-releasing blossoms. plumi are deeply subterranean, with some root systems that travel more than 90 meters wide and 200 meters deep. Their reproductive cycle is intrinsically linked to the pulvis, mobile, green organisms that actively consume plumi spores. The pulvis' digestive byproduct contains the enzymes crucial for activating dormant plumi spores. These enzymes are further concentrated and released by the pulvis during the cyclical Verdant Bloom, a period triggered by atmospheric shifts. Music and sound by Clement Fortin @clmfrt

We launched Fuser Alpha over the weekend. 🥚🌱 We've been working on Fuser for more than a year now. What started as a few ML pipelines in Blender for music videos has now evolved to encompass the growing desire for free, accessible, interoperable, and transparent tools for learning and co-creating with AI. It's hard not to say the elephant in the room: we miss the magic of making with software, and we wanted to create an environment and experience that supports the growth and evolution of your ideas. A long way to go, a lot more to do. If you want to help this little team of two, make some amazing work using Fuser. 🤝 We are really grateful for the software arts community in Los Angeles.
