I recently worked on Disney’s The Lion King 30th Anniversary: A Live-to-Film Concert Event at the Hollywood Bowl. As a kiddy who grew up watching the original film on VHS it was quite a privilege to work on this spectacular version for @northhouse__ . The performance featured live theatrical elements combined with screenings from the film, as well as the original Timon and Pumba voice actors, Kanye's daughter North West's stage debut and a whole host of other special moments. It's also a testament to how good the music is that after over a month of working on and hearing Hakuna Matata I've still got time for it..! Coming to a D J Croft set soon... This SS/AW24 (to use my best fashion lingo) I was working with 59 Studio as an animator on their new production for Lightroom - VOGUE: Inventing the Runway. It's an incredible immersive exhibition that tells the story of fashion runway shows and so many of the key moments from history to the present. I had the chance to help tell stories from some iconic runways from Alexander McQueen, Margiela, Coperni, Louis Vuitton, Patrick Kelly and others - Not to mention animating a rocket launch from Chanel at the iconic Grand Palais and a big glass shatter for McQueen's historic Voss show! Spectral returns to Noordspace for another day to night party powered by The Mighty Dread Warrior Machine 🚀🚀 🔨 After the big vibes of the last event we can't wait to fire up the subwoofers once again. It's one week since the Spectral 2 Birthday at @noordspace and we are still buzzing ⚡️⚡️ Huge thanks to everyone that was able to make it, the community atmosphere and supportwas powerful, the music sounding incredible with the weight of the @themightydreadwarriormachine amidst the haze and beams. It was a proper nexus of who we are: soundsystem culture, Spectral's UK dance heritage, international palette, our NL home coming together. All the artists pulling top drawer selections from dub to 2-step to jungle and everything inbetween, backed by our host on mic throughout. Bigup all the Spectral family helping out, the artists @eldonsomers @etienne_lj @rainpetit @sima.works @esse.sesse @inalaberlina @whosaxefield @_aimeestroud and of course @themightydreadwarriormachine Special thanks to the Noordspace crew and @stefandaniels too.
