We put together 19 easy, low cost STEM activities designed to turn kitchens, backyards, sidewalks, and rainy afternoons into little science labs. From growing crystals and rubber eggs to sink-or-float tests and DIY lava lamps, these projects encourage curiosity, creativity, prediction making, observation, and hands on learning using mostly household items.
You don’t need a classroom full of supplies to raise a curious child. Sometimes all it takes is salt, soap, food coloring, and a little bit of time together.
And because learning doesn’t stop when the experiment ends, we also included some STEM themed book recommendations to keep the curiosity going long after the mess is cleaned up 📚✨

Our shopping sprees aren’t just about giving back and having fun (ofc they’re about those things too) they’re about giving choices.
There’s something powerful about a child being able to walk up, look around, and decide for themselves: this is what I want.
It turns an often stressful experience for many into something they feel ownership over. When kids have agency they’re more invested!
