This past weekend we invited all of our friends + family over to celebrate this new era of @sipmoresips and it was nothing short of incredible ✨
The star of the show really was this GORGEOUS cake custom made from @ecbg_studio !!! The inside was chocolate w/ raspberry ganache and I’m still dreaming of her 💭 It’s always an amazing experience with ECBG! I refuse to order cakes from anywhere else (yes it is that serious) 🙂↕️

The vision 🦪🌊🌫️
A project just for me. Something to capture the heavier feeling of this year… something foggy, gloomier, chilly.
Something to capture water life - erosion. How tiny creatures grab on for dear life. Water heals and water destroys. You know I love that contradiction.
Urchins, mollusks, sea weed, coral, shells…. Life.
The feeling of clutching your jacket tight as you stare out into the water.
But water does heal…. And just being near it puts everything into perspective. And maybe as you look out into the water you feel hope.
And then it’s really not that deep and you just really like the way it looks and the feelings it evokes. And that’s enough too!
I can’t wait to show you the way it turned out!
See all of the incredible artists who helped inspire our cake. My process is like this- scan the internet to pull dozens of images of art/cake that make me feel something in accordance with the “vibe” - choose my favorite handful to focus on- take a lil from each one and create something new that feels right. I like a loose guide because a lot of the time I have to “f*ck around and find out” I have to wait to see what the cake is needing and telling me. I have to experiment and rotate things and adjust things and take things off and replace things.
All of this was done with @margaret.a.helmuth who champions the project. She turns my desired adjectives into art. Sometimes the prompt is “Julia Roberts with sun glasses inside smoking a cigarette” sometimes the prompt is “foggy cake by the sea at dawn.” She takes the feeling living in my head and makes it tangible. Makes it so I can see it and touch it and so @gabbysaywhatt can take pictures of it and so it can then live forever.
And that’s healing too! ☁️☁️☁️
