THANKS 4 BELIEVING IN ME
Kinda shitty to have to make an update like this but here she goes.
It’s been nearly 2 years since a fucking tweaker in a Uhaul hit me head on while out land surveying. It broke both my hips amongst a slew of other problems. I got a surgery for my right hip a few months later, the pain got worse with unforeseen complications. I have been struggling pretty hard with constant intense pain with no relief. 1.5 years after surgery I sought out another surgeon who immediately sees the surgery was unsuccessful and now I need a hip reconstruction. Woof. Back to square one. So on the 2 year anniversary of this crash, I’m getting a 2nd surgery same hip. HOPEFULLY this goes well so I can finally get work done on my other hip. 2 bad hips at the same time is a hellish existence. There is a lot of uncertainty in my life but this year is beyond cooked for me, it’s MFing fucking burnt ends over here. But that’s not so bad. I have a lot of virtue in my life. Truly. However…I have been circling the drain for 2 years just barely hanging on. Ive gotten alot of help and support over this period. THANK YOU. It sucks I can’t give a more happy and healthy update. Oddly enough the week before this accident I had been internally congratulating myself on a life well created. I was proud of the life I had molded, the wife I had found and grown more fond of each day, the friendships that I had cultivated. It was as if I had taken my first step back to appreciate myself and relish in my own marvels. Then BOOM. Won’t do that again!
But it turned my life upside down. I lost my career, lost my ability to play music, lost my will to live for the most part. I play piano now because it just hurts too much to play guitar. That’s a pivot I was forced to make. With each pivot I’ve made on this journey, it has been met with struggle and lack of self belief. I honestly STILL don’t really believe in myself. The only reason I’m still carrying on especially as an artist is that I have so many inspiring and supportive people that have helped carry this broken boy along that it would be a shame not to soldier on. Soldier on with me this Thursday. Possible my last gig this year.

Proud to announce some (objectively) GOOD NEWS. Album number one is finished! Huge thanks to @vandollmar for his amazing bass skills and also for buying a Volvo we can kick at our leisure. We’ve also added the illustrious @mileseichner to the roster just in time for some gigs! And best of all, we are performing live and in person April 10th at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver AND April 11th at The Fox Theatre in Boulder opening up for @thenudeparty and @tobaccocityband
