holy shit i love making movies! my first (Elevation) is out now! admittedly i haven’t seen it as i’m almost halfway through working 18 straight on 2 different commercials but i’ll get there and you should too! this was 2yrs ago during CO’s wild cold snap. lots of 10° days and most of my time spent hiking tube-of-death around the mountains and getting special access to different mines around CO. made lifelong friends on this and hope to on the next one!
Twisters bts pt 6. the motel, which we quadrupled in size and dug a pool, now demolished. we see the trailer gag (one we didn’t use because it didn’t slam hard enough, one we used smashed the pool coping), and then our final days in the studio. we were in a huge rush that last week, many people working 16-20hrs/day. we were getting all the little pickup shots - foot stepping out of car, hand grabbing steering wheel etc. …and just like that we were gone.
Twisters bts pt 5. we see some wire work, i believe they did this 4 times. then general commotion of the set at the motel. lots of the filming process was super hot (first round) or super cold (second round) with a ton of wind and water. actors were dressed like summer at 1am in the middle of December getting wind, rain and ice cubes shot at them while everyone watched in parkas covering 2-3 more layers. to say it was intense for everyone involved would be an understatement.
