Everything I learned about documentary filmmaking started with following the work of
@goodwolffilms . The power tandem of
@jakejereza and
@bardowu were among my first mentors in the docu space, and there’s something deeply nostalgic to me about the fact that I’m still all in on making documentaries to this day.
Sometime in 2019/2020, I had the privilege of working with them as a shooter and editor.
The voiceover you hear was recorded from a 2 hour conversation
@chloeadarme and I had with each other a few months before the wedding. In the busyness of wedding prep, it took me a few more months to finally shape and edit the final tape.
I hit multiple blocks while writing the wedding tape, and only found my way through after rewatching one of Jake’s classics, Kaye & Anton’s Wedding (2019). This film is an homage to you, Jake, Bardo, and Good Wolf. In some way, I’d like to believe I still managed to fulfill a long held dream of having a Good Wolf wedding film. You’ve left a lasting mark on my filmmaking journey, and I still find myself revisiting old notes and rewatching your films whenever I hit creative blocks or low points.
Endless love and thanks to
@oasisstudio.ph , under the helm of
@francisbrklss , who brought so much life and soul to this film. They drove in from Angeles at 11pm the night before and were practically invisible, making our camera-awkward selves feel completely at ease throughout the day.
Hope you enjoy this film 🤗
