over the past 2 years, my roles have greatly diversified. i’ve always believed i was more than an athlete, pero parang sineryoso ko talaga ito sa dami ng roles ko! haha
ofc sometimes i struggle to keep up with all of it and feel that maybe i need to just pick one or two things lang cause that’s the norm. but someone i look up to recently told me that this much-ness tells how invested i am in my sport and what i do.
i needed to hear that. i was reminded that i can be many things and i’m allowed~ to be many things!
i can play, i can lead, i can commentate, i can coach and support athletes, i can speak and tell my story, listen and produce stories, and while it scares me at times, i can also host in front of a big crowds.

There are those who believe that women and girls are unfit for sports. And there are those like Cam Rodriguez and Mariana Lopa, who empower women and girls to step on the field.
As the managing director of Girls Got Game, Mariana has seen how supporting girls in sports builds their confidence. “On day one, they’re shy,” Mariana explains. “But after 365 days, I see how much the girls grow and how confident they become.”
Throughout her sports career as a football athlete, mental performance coach, and sports analyst, Cam believes that support for Filipina athletes begins with believing in their abilities. “Filipina athletes can do it,” Cam says. “What we just need are people who believe in us and with that belief, all the actions that follow it.”
