𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐁 (𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞) 🇸🇬
For this edition of the column, guest writer Elijah Pareno zeroes in on CURB, a Singapore trio cutting through emo with a sharper, punk-leaning edge. Coming out of a scene shaped by bands like Forests, the group builds on that groundwork while keeping direct to the point. Their debut Hope You’re Doing Well, Michaella set the tone with blunt writing and tight, hard-hitting hooks, while newer releases like benjabes! show them loosening the structure without losing grip. Across tracks like “7AM,” “Insult Through Injury,” and “You’re Me But Worse,” CURB keeps things immediate, restless, and locked in with each other.
