Happy Earth Day everybody! From Earth Day 2009 with #flaminglips headlining. My friend #peteshapiro was the promoter of numerous #earthday events both on The Mall in D.C. as well as many other places. I was a part of many of these and other great shows!
CTC Creative has had a long and productive relationship with @brookfieldproperties . We have been fortunate enough to be included on many projects at one of their biggest NYC projects @manhattanwestnyc .
Last summer, CTC Creative was tapped by Beyer Blinder Belle Architects to photograph the Essex Crossing Mixed-Use Development. Our offices are nearby and I have watched the area languish for decades. Essex Crossing has transformed the Delancey Street corridor approaching the Williamsburg Bridge into a new hub featuring retail markets, restaurants, offices, a movie theater, and the International Center of Photography. BBB and SHoP Architects led the master planning of the six-acre complex. This once-underutilized area has become the heart of the community. It was a privilege for us @ctc.creative to help out on this great project!

We did an ad shoot for Apres Equinox several years ago, which is still being activated on a seasonal basis on the roof of their headquarters at 35 Hudson Yards. Saunas, a heated pool, and a bar with adult beverages are all offered to give patrons a small taste of winter and apres ski culture. It kind of makes us want to be in @milanocortina2026 !

Some wintertime aerials….You have to earn these! It’s at least 20 degrees colder at altitude and you are living inside your own wind chill factor created by the helicopter. Central Park and MetLife Stadium.

CTC Creative visited several times this year to create photography and video content for BBB Architects in partnership with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The years-long overall project was the replacement of hundreds of skylights and other special-purpose windows on the west and south sides of the museum, along with substantial interior renovations. Aging windows were replaced and upgraded, increasing UV protection, and interior gallery spaces were enlarged and reformatted. For more…click news link 🔗in bio. #themetropolitanmuseumofart
Today we visit the W.R. Grace Building. Built in 1974, it was initially criticized for being oversized and the curved facade was polarizing and considered "too groovy."
Over the last 50 years, the neighborhood has grown to match the mass. It overcame its awkward phase, and is now an elegant anchor for Bryant Park, 42nd Street, and Midtown Manhattan.
If the building looks a lot like the Solow Building at 9 West 57th, that is not a coincidence. George Solow rejected architect Gordon Bunshaft's initial design, most of which was eventually used for W.R. Grace. To this day, people still confuse them.
Currently owned by @brookfieldproperties .
16 Dupont Amenities Shoot. A brand new building along the burgeoning Greenpoint, BK waterfront. There are a LOT of new buildings over there, but this one really stands out.
Thanks to @rockefellergroup , @compassdmg , and Park Tower Group, Ltd.
We got great coverage of the beautiful @berluti showroom in the Fuller Building (AKA 595 Madison), one of Midtown’s Art Deco architectural gems. Designed by Walker & Gillette and built in 1929, it was originally intentioned to be a collection of art galleries, and was described as “the first high-class multiple-purpose skyscraper” in the city. It currently houses less art galleries than before, but the spectacular spaces are perfect for the bespoke, appointment-only retailers that currently occupy most of the building.

As most do, I clock my year based on the same cycle of holidays, seasons, and turning points. As any New Yorker from a certain place in time will tell you, we face a yearly, indelible inflection point, every second week of September. As a New Yorker, it is a yearly sadness, not easily avoided and never completely gone…Visit link in bio for more. #september11
CTC Creative recently did work capturing the Fuller Building in NYC (AKA 595 Madison Ave.), one of Midtown’s architectural gems. Built in 1929, it was a high water mark for Art Deco design and was originally intentioned to be a collection of art galleries. It currently houses less art galleries than before, but the spectacular spaces are perfect for the bespoke, appointment-only retailers that currently occupy most of the building.
