New release on Outline Online → Neureal now available!
The updated family comprises six styles:
Regular, Semi-Mono, and Mono, each with a corresponding italic. Neureal is also available as a variable font with a Mono axis.
The Regular style is intended for use across most sizes, ranging from display to body text. The Mono styles, perform optimally, particularly in smaller text.
The monospace version further aggravates the broken curves of the original design.
The Semi-Mono styles mediate between proportional and monospace metric rhythms. The strange attribute of this setting adds a new, complementary layer to Neureal.
Neureal is available again, this time on @outline____online
Neureal is a reverse-contrast, sans-serif typeface developed through experimentation with extrapolation. The initial drawings, based on visual distortions, were fed into the computer, which then generated new ideas for lettershapes with mathematical calculations. Neureal consists of these revised and redrawn shapes as a result of a back and force with the software.

The Face custom typeface for @thefacemagazine by @outline____online under the direction of @jonnylu and team @laramayz@daniel_._johns
The Face custom typeface was created specifically for the magazine’s print issue and is used equally in body text and titles.
The Face custom was inspired by historical observation of Sabon, further modernised to fit the requirements of contemporary use. The design also had to perform across diverse conditions and accommodate more experimental layout settings. At the start of the process, we developed a flexible tool, specifically to test a range of parameters.
By sliding the contrast and weight of the typeface, we were able to find the best combination within the design space that performs well under varying conditions. This solution remains effective when the type is compressed to different degrees or used at multiple sizes within a single title or paragraph.
Thank you to the team for working with us and for their amazing direction!

The Face custom typeface for @thefacemagazine by @outline____online under the direction of @jonnylu and team @laramayz@daniel_._johns
The Face is a British youth culture and style magazine, first launched in 1980 in London. It is known for defining fashion, music, and social trends through photography and design.
To add another layer to these compositions, one of The Face’s custom typeface features includes letterforms that resemble monospace fonts. Though the typeface itself is proportional, these extended or compressed shapes give it a contemporary character and a more extreme look compared to closer interpretations of the source. These mono-like shapes create an unexpected rhythm throughout the design.
Thank you to the team for working with us and for their amazing direction!

“There’s two types of experimentation for me. And one is kind of accidental and I really love this kind of experimentation because usually for me this type comes from mistakes and I really love mistakes.” – Laura Csocsán @cs__laura live at @pov.budapest 2025:
