New updated and simplified website. With photographs of the last years‘ books by @timsonnntag , development by @pffffffffffffffffffffffffffff based on the old website by @mhgbrown I did not find time in the last years to update my website, and because I do less and less posters and identities, I figured it made more sense to just commission a shoot of my publications. Tim is an old studio mate and after leaving his design agency, he changed his focus to photography. I gave him a box of books and told him to do with it whatever he wanted. There are a lot of books in there that I haven‘t had the chance to document properly. More information will follow!

Ahead of the opening of the German pavilion at this year’s 61st International Art Exhibition—La Biennale di Venezia, I thought I’d share some research that informed the design of the visual identity and accompanying catalogue. Jack O’Brien:‹Cue the Cue 240 pages Designed with @gabrieldubourg Texts: Juliette Desorgues, Kristian Vistrup Madsen, Jack O’Brien & Jeppe Ugelvig (Interview) and Alexander Wilmschen Typeface by @maxitype_com ISBN 978-3-948546-37-3 Published by @bierkebooks and @kestner_gesellschaft This publication accompanying his most comprehensive exhibition to date exhibition is Jack O’Brien’s first monograph. Conceived by the artist himself, it complements the exhibition in both form and content, documenting his practice from 2021–2025 and transfers it into a different medium. Developed as an artist’s book it stands in direct relation to the magazine collages in the exhibition. The torn book cover, perforated paper pages, and a shoelace sealed under cellophane make the publication itself a sculptural gesture. The catalogue brings together the first substantial essays on O’Brien’s work. Alexander Wilmschen introduces the exhibition, in which chance becomes the driving force of reordering, and situates O’Brien’s work within the context of queer phenomenology. Kristian Vistrup Madsen examines the sadomasochistic dimensions of the work. Juliette Desorgues reads the sculptures as embodied punctuation. In conversation with Jeppe Ugelvig, O’Brien reflects on his artistic methodology and language. The result is a monograph which also formally works with the moments of controlled instability that are so striking in the exhibition: floating, supported and warped.

Liz Craft! American artist Liz Craft creates sculptures and figurative installations that appear like fragments in space. They tell dreamlike stories and conjure an atmosphere associated with surrealism, fairy tales, or drug-induced hallucinations. For her art, Craft mainly draws on ideas from American counterculture of the 1960s, psychedelic experiences, and pop culture. She borrows images from B movies, Westerns, and horror films, as well as comic strips and theme park aesthetics. This first comprehensive monograph on Liz Craft in more than 15 years offers a deep insight into her artistic evolution over two decades. Numerous illustrations document recent works in various contexts. Two supplementing essays and a conversation with the artist explore and reflect on the diverse themes and techniques she applies. The superbly designed volume contributes to a better understanding of Craft’s unique style and offers a rich source for anyone interested in contemporary art. *** @zilcraft Edited by Stefanie Gschwend und Paul Bernard @kbcb_kunsthaus_centredart kunstmuseumkunsthalleappenzell @paul_bernaard Book design by Dan Solbach with Leon Stark @dansolbachstudio @leon_starkk With contributions by Paul Bernard, Jay Chung, Stefanie Gschwend and Giovanna Zapperi #LizCraft #sculptures #femaleartist #Americancounterculture figurativeinstallations

This past spring, I had the opportunity to teach a course at @klassehickmann at @udkberlin . The class focused on editorial design, approached through issue 35 of @arts_of_the_working_class . Each student selected a topic of personal interest and developed it into their own editorial concept and design. The results were published as a newspaper which—due to limited funding—was made possible through contributions from the students, myself, and the generous support of @abcdinamo . Many thanks to all the participants for such a great experience (and apologies for not sharing this earlier!). Thanks as well to @fons_hickmann for the invitation and to @louiseborinski for the support. The newspaper should be available via @klassehickmann . African Spatial Thinking | Denkraum Afrika “If we must say ‘Africa’ in the singular, this is not out of ignorance of the continent’s constitutive plurality. It is to name an idea, a project, a telos—to evoke the horizon onto which the younger generations of today are projecting their dream of tomorrow.” Out now in stores and online! / Jetzt im Buchhandel & online erhĂ€ltlich! OUT NOW „Crip Time“ (2021/22 at the Frankfurt Museum fĂŒr Moderne Kunst) was the first museum exhibition to centre on artists living with disabilities. In their works, they call into question the norms and standards of capitalist society and explore who they benefit - and thereby exclude. The title refers to the idea of „crip time,“ developed by the American scholar Alison Kafer, which contends that people with disabilities need a different and more flexible sense of time in order to thrive. As is not unusual when working in crip time, this catalogue is published three years after the show closed. It provides a comprehensive account of and reflections on the exhibition in 19 texts, an extended thematic reader on the subject that can serve as a resource for future scholarship, and a new collaborative work by the artists Carolyn Lazard, Park McArthur, and Constantina Zavitsanos. Edited by Susanne Pfeffer. With contributions by Panteha Abareshi, Absalon, John Akomfrah, Karen Barad, Emily Barker, Franco Bellucci, Adelhyd van Bender, Brothers Sick (Ezra Benus and Noah Benus), Franz Karl BĂŒhler, Derrick Alexis Coard, Shawanda Corbett, Chloe Pascal Crawford, Jillian Crochet, Jesse Darling, Amalle Dublon, Pepe EspaliĂș, Sharona Franklin, Isa Genzken, Nan Goldin, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Emilie Louise Gossiaux, Dagmar Herzog, Judith Hopf, Alison Kafer, Karrabing Film Collective, Mike Kelley, Christine Sun Kim, Thomas Lamarre, Carolyn Lazard, Guadalupe Maravilla, Park McArthur, Michelle Miles, Leroy F.
