Exhibition: Minor Refusals
It was wholesome to experience some of the most inspiring works of art and performance pieces last week at the exhibition 'Minor Refusals' by @amdavad_art_e_summit and i'm really grateful for being part of it too. Showcasing Artist: Vaidehi Sadiwala @crumbled.red at Amdavad Art Summit
Vaidehiโs work โOutlines" is an act of resistance and perseverance in which the artist studies her consciousness shaped by news, lived events, and shared female histories. Functioning as a visual journal, the work examines how physical and psychological traumas inflicted by violence, language, and systems are inscribed onto the body. Censored anatomy, scars, suppressed sexuality, and bodily shame reveal how harm accumulates into a metaphorical decay. Refusing erasure, Outlines holds space for collective memory and accountability, questioning why the world remains structurally hostile to women. Rendered in red and blue, the fragile lines oscillate between silence and confrontation. Named Outlines because the inquiry remains at the margins, the work asks how deep collective trauma runs and whether it can ever be measured.
