“Not all Weight is Visible”
Some weights don’t show up on a barbell. This documentary takes an honest look at the women who walk into CrossFit Monkey Flag every day, carrying far more than what fits in a gym bag. Societal expectations, professional struggles, personal battles. We follow women across different walks of life, a doctor, a teacher, a photographer, a trainer, each navigating challenges unique to their profession and their identity, and we draw a simple but powerful parallel between the weights they lift in the gym and the weight they carry every single day outside of it. We also look at how age is rarely a barrier when the mind is stable, and how that stability shapes the life you’re able to build.
What CrossFit Monkey Flag gave these women wasn’t just a place to train, it was a community built from scratch, one that chose to show up for each other. A space with genuinely good energy, not because life got easier, but because no one had to face it alone. One of the women in this film even found the courage, through this community, to walk away from a marriage that no longer served her. This film is also, in its own quiet way, a portrait of what an Indian gym could and should look like.
“A woman’s mindset is not easy to break, and it was never meant to be.”
