It’s late but I haven’t been in the studio for a couple of months so tonight I got so excited because I missed being at home in my body. There are times I feel my self in a state of paralysis, my favourite comfy armchair could be a concrete block and nothing moves, nothing flows, information remains unprocessed. But my body talks, information comes and goes and all at once I understand what I didn’t know five seconds ago. And that’s a gift 💙 My relationship to dance has changed because a lot about the dance world is problematic and I can’t unsee it. I can’t unsee the pain and disillusionment of my friends and peers. So I look to the very core of what dance is and try to see what’s there. I feel like what moves through the body is a confession of everything that your mouth has refused to form into words. Make of that what you will, I think a lot of us are still trying to unmute and turn the volume up on the silence. P.s.
