At CoP our mission is transforming, empowering and engaging women in peace creation for all. ✨
Through leadership, compassion and courage women continue to break barriers, heal divisions and build stronger more united societies.
At the heart of lasting peace is the power of women standing together, raising their voices, supporting one another and leading change where it matters most.
As we look ahead to our 35th anniversary gathering this October, we proudly celebrate the women who have carried our vision forward and will continue to carry it over the years to come. ✨
Building a legacy of peace one step at a time. 🌎
Over the past year, Creators of Peace facilitators have been introducing Peace Circles in women’s prisons in Kenya 🇰🇪
Together with the prison welfare department, early outcomes observed were:
• Increased openness in counselling • Safe spaces for sharing personal experiences • Reduced conflict among inmates • Improved behaviour and engagement in rehabilitation
These insights reflect the meaningful difference Peace Circles can make in supporting rehabilitation and fostering more positive prison environments. As this work continues to grow and expand to different facilities in the region, we hope to see its benefits reaching more communities around the world 🌎
"Cultivating cultures of conscience and compassion, contradicting cultures of contempt" are two themes that will be explored at this year's CoP global gathering in Kenya, October 14-17, 2026.
One of the biggest threats to a culture of cohesion is contempt for "the other". A culture of contempt is equivalent to stage 4 in the 10 stages of genocide.
Letlapa, a South African anti-apartheid fighter, said, "We believed in freedom for ourselves but not for others. We resisted white supremacy but carried ethnic supremacy in our hearts...I am now working for a greater 'yes' to our common humanity."
At CoP's 35th Anniversary gathering this October we will be working together towards that greater "yes".
Registration opens soon! Stay tuned.

Creators of Peace Nigeria held its first 3-day Men’s Peace Circle 🇳🇬
Participants came together in a safe space to reflect, grow and build skills for peace in their personal lives, families and communities.
From exploring the true meaning of peace, to practicing self-awareness, active listening and forgiveness, each day offered powerful lessons and real-life tools.
The journey ended with personal commitments to create positive change and foster peace wherever they go.
A truly transformative experience in healing, growth and peacebuilding. ✨
Following the genocide in 1994, Rwandans Mathilde Kayetesi and Didacienne Mukahabeshimana created Umuhuza, a ngo devoted to putting communication and mediation skills in the hands of people at every level of society. They travelled the country delivering workshops and implementing systems of trained local mediators able to resolve conflicts of all types. The six concepts that guided their work remain as relevant and insightful as ever. These two inspiring women were active in Creators of Peace for many years and are part of our legacy.
👩🦰 15 women. 🌍 12 nationalities. 🗣️ 11 languages.
❓ One shared question: What is peace anyway?
This weekend at the #CauxPalace - paired with the intimate setting of Villa Maria - a diverse circle of women came together to pause, reflect, and explore how each of us can contribute to a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world.
Guided by experienced facilitators @mirandashawofficial and Elizabeth Laskar from @creatorsofpeace_official / @wilddwomen , and hosted by @sarahnoblehummingbird from the Caux Foundation, the group moved through thoughtful sessions, exploring peace from multiple angles: within ourselves, in our relationships, and in the wider world.
Reflections also touched on what builds and destroys peace, how to find inner peace, the power of forgiveness, and how peace can be lived in everyday life.
🕊️ Storytelling was at the heart of the experience. Participants shared their own journeys, alongside stories of women peacebuilders from around the world, highlighting the qualities, challenges, and commitments that shape effective peacebuilding.
🤝 Rather than seeking a single definition, the weekend embraced the complexity of peace—and what undermines it—while highlighting the importance of listening across differences. Its core objective was to strengthen women in their role as peacebuilders and create space for meaningful exchange across cultures and experiences.
✨ What does peace look like in your context?

Exploring ‘Inner Listening’ ✨
One of the core practices of Creators of Peace is Inner listening. Our President, Jean Brown, shares her insights and invites us all to become!
“Inner listening can be understood in a variety of ways. It is a practice for connection, correction and direction. For many it is a commitment to listen for God’s guidance and insights. For others it is a practice of deep reflection and connection with Source or Wisdom. Our journey through life, our wellbeing, our choices - they all benefit from clarity about our intention and make our inner listening meaningful. Awareness of what our intention is at any given point requires considerable self-honesty. If our intention in meditating is merely to feel good or look good, we may achieve both and yet miss the greater intention of our lives. If correction is needed, then purity and unselfishness refine motive. With that refreshed intention we seek the wisdom from beyond ego, we humbly recognise the need of the guidance of that universal loving intelligence some call God. If our intention is to serve humanity, to be part of repairing the world, to create peace within and around us, inner listening becomes an essential compass and companion.”

❄️🏔️Meanwhile at the Caux Palace… ❄️🏔️
While winter has made an unexpected return to Caux, we are preparing to welcome two sets of peace circles for women starting tomorrow, in collaboration with @creatorsofpeace_official 🤝.
Set in the inspiring surroundings of Caux Palace, these transformative retreats invite women from all walks of life to pause, connect, and grow together. 🌿
🕊️Peace circles foster leadership skills such as emotional intelligence, resilience, and collaborative problem-solving, alongside core peacebuilding practices like empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution.
We look forward to exploring these supportive spaces together to help women reconnect with their strengths, purpose, and inner clarity - and to take the next steps in their journey toward peaceful leadership. 🌍💫
