@creativemorning @creativemorningsvb is excited to host Thriving through change to CREATE with art museum director Alison Byrne @alison___byrne May 15, 2026 • 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM EDT • The Creative Well Arts Foundation About the speaker Alison Byrne is the Executive Director of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (Virginia MOCA), where she leads the museum’s vision as a vital cultural and educational resource for the region. She is currently leading the opening of Virginia MOCA’s new home on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University in 2026. A 2025 Arts, Culture, and Design Honoree at the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards and a Women in Business Honoree, Byrne also serves on the board of the ViBe Creative District and the City of Virginia Beach Public Art Committee. Additional details Light refreshments provided at 830am– bring your own reusable mug for coffee. Come network with your creative community. The talk begins promptly at 9am followed by Q&A. Lori Golding Zontini @lorigzontiniphotography brought her @oldbeachfarmersmarket hat, camera and bullhorn for her @creativemorning @creativemorningsvb talk last month! Having spent a decade with OBFM getting to know her community and supporting all the small business vendors, Lori talked about the passion of our people. Watching children grow up in the streets of @thevibecreativedistrict , one Saturday at a time, Lori is more than just a friendly face, she's a pillar of the community. She has also photographed more than 100 murals for artists in the arts district since 2018, helping see and been seen at events. @creativemorningsvb meets monthly, every 3rd Friday morning-- we hope to see you there!

Jeremy Maloney @uvajester of @altruistic.design spoke about LOCAL last month at @creativemorningsvb where he shared how and why he joined @oldbeachfarmersmarket when returning home to @cityofvabeach after grad school (he is now Chair of the OBFM board). This community involvement led him to helping small businesses when he founded his own architectural firm which is now located on 17th St in @thevibecreativedistrict .
