A lil life update… Work as a studio assistant at the @chryslermuseum’s Perry Glass Studio is pretty damn fun. Kelsy and I made this cutie patootie avocado dude during our noon demonstration a couple weeks back.I help with general studio upkeep like cleaning, knolling around, recycling cullet, processing student work, and assist with classes & our daily noon demos.We have weekly tech sessions taught by staff members and visiting artists. Everyone is so generous with their knowledge and I’m constantly picking up new skills. I feel so loved and accepted there ️‍ @chryslermuseum

Kicking things off in the new classroom with our very first CERAMICS workshop at @virginiamoca!! ️ Today we made Portrait Plates inspired by @ninachanel’s artwork on view ️ We rolled our slabs together and used mason stained clay to add personality. Off to the kiln they go! Coming up…TEENS CERAMICS!!! ️ Join us for a two-part ceramic workshop where teens will design, build, and glaze their own one-of-a-kind mug from start to finish. Participants will explore foundational hand-building techniques including slab construction, surface design, and attaching handles and details to create a functional ceramic vessel. All materials are included, and no prior ceramics experience is required.Finished artworks will be kiln- and glaze-fired, and participants will be notified when their pieces are ready for pickup.Saturdays, June 6 and June 13
