SAOIR by @refreshdesign ⢠It celebrates Brisbaneâs timber heritage by restoring an early 1900s cottage with care, while seamlessly preparing it for modern living.
The new additions sit gently beside the old, blending architecture with lush subtropical landscaping.
Light, air and openness shape the experience ⢠protected doors and windows maximise breezes, and a covered, double-height courtyard anchors the home with a sense of clarity and calm.
Named after the Gaelic word for carpenter, SAOIR pays tribute to the craftsmen who built the original house, honouring its past while setting it up beautifully for the future.

Erhard on responding to the site of Aaronâs Place:â¨âThis was one of those rare sites where nature already did so much. Our job was to step back and design something that became part of the landscape. We reduced the house to four materials â concrete, timber, glass and stone â and let the textures and surroundings take the lead.â
