[Konstfack spring degree exhibition 2026 pt V] Final round @konstfack , where curators Abir Boukhari and Ulrika Flink aptly chose in large parts to sectionalize different disciplines. Some disciplines do just need more from the viewer, so an insular approach has always made sense over the 15 years we’ve been covering the shows, even as curators over time have gone up and beyond to mix and shake up. The latter works when various projects from across different disciplines rest on some ”art core” as a common denominator. Some choices in the past have been pure curatorial vanity. 1) Impressive: Siri Junell’s hybrid works leaning on music box and curiosity cabinet. Excellent finishing and execution. Bachelor Jewellery & Corpus 2) Nadeschda Barenje, Bachelor Ceramics & Glass 3) Dimitra Konstantinidi clearly saw and earnt favorable spatial allocation with all right; the aerial textile pavillions bringing Britta Marakatt-Labba to mind soon at an arts institution near you. Master Craft Textiles 4) Jonathan Klangeryd, Bachelor Interior architecture and furniture design. A project ringing the bell of artistic mobility loudly 5) Tom Bigert’s project title ”Exercise for small spaces” sum the optics of his work up just well. Love. Bachelor Industrial design 6) Jonathan Gard, Master Craft Jewellery & Corpus 7) Nanna Li, Master Visual Communication 8) Martina Olsén Dahlin, Master Visual Communication 9) Plentiful canny goth vibes: Molly Börjlind, Bachelor textile

Dance Becomes Her (Lilian) We first came across Australian artist and choreographer Lilian Steiner when conducting a Q&A during the third edition of @sthlmdans , where she performed her solo piece Siren Dance. Lilian relocated to Stockholm to join the world-remowned company @cullbergofficial . In 2026 she is the first artist-in-residence at Konstnärshuset in Stockholm, performing three bodies of works over the year. She is also showing in a group exhibition at the institution opening in Aug. The exhibition will later travel to @gavlekonstcentrum in the fall. Earlier this week on Monday she showed her lecture performance ”Dances Becomes Her”, a collaboration between the fifth edition of STHLM Dans and Konstnärshuset. @sthlmdans @liliangrace

[BamBam Frost - round II] Our editor Koshik Zaman interviewed @bambamfrost back in 2022 as she was about to present her work ’YES’ at @mdtsthlm . A lot has happened since. We check in with BamBam, who has just returned from NYC, where she presented a new iteration of the work at the ongoing La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival at @lamamaetc , an iconic venue for drama and performance art in the city. ”New York is my city. I came here when I was 19, lived in Theresa Traore Dahlberg and Mapei’s old apartment, and ran around town dancing, partying, and growing into the person I am today. I have returned to NYC regularly, surfing through different contexts,” she tells us in an interview on the C-print site. All images courtesy of BamBam Frost. @bambamfrost

Konsttillfälle (Fourth edition) ”Konsttillfälle” is an annual supersize exhibition joining over 40 artists across ca 600 m2 in an old school in Stockholm (Midsommarkransens gamla skola) housing artist studios. Midsommarkransens gamla skola will for a fourth time be a place to be, between May 14-17 (vernissage May 14 Thur 5-9 PM) C-print’s Ashik Zaman is curating a section of the exhibition, with an exhibition within the exhibition inside an old locker room, titled ”Sötast i klassen”/”Cutest in the class”, drawing from aspects and images of masculinities on the one hand; performing and breaking with masculinities, soft masculinities, fetishized and objectified masculinities, and clandestine intimacy, repurposing public shared space and similar notions on the other. In the locker room exhibition inside Konsttillfälle: Monica Nilsson, Lill-Marit Bugge, Agnieszka Abramowicz and Christofer Näsholm. Also in Konsttillfälle among the many artists, independently presenting is Birt Berglund, MFA’22 grad of @konstfack , invited by Ashik Zaman. Birt is one of ten artists who participated in the exhibition ”Future Watch” that we curated at Kulturhuset in 2021 and was also shortlisted and featured in C-print’s The Future Watch Issue in print, the same year. At Konsttillfälle he presents two bodies of works, of which one connects back to and expands conceptually on work that was shown at Kulturhuset in our exhibition. See you on Thursday!

[Stay] On view: Yesterday saw the opening of a new solo show by Julia Bondesson at @gallerybelenius . Known for her carved sculptures alluding to bodily shapes, the new body of work juxtaposes pine wood with neon lights - a very exciting new direction ⚡️ Julia is notably a past recipient of the Beckers Art Award (2015), in connection to which she presented a solo show at @fargfabriken_ . Notable past exhibitions also include @modernamuseetmalmo in 2022 and a most memorable stint in @stockholmkonst ’s annual summer exhibition back in 2023 in which a sculpture was suspended between two trees in downtown Stockholm. #juliabondesson
