@nast_is_nvst cut her teeth throwing parties and forest raves in Lausanne. Fiercely DIY and that has always been baked into her DNA. The NVST sound? A seismic, bone-rattling collision of breakbeat, techno, acid and industrial. DJ Mag put it well: the moss and mud of the forest floor has soaked through her boots and into everything she plays. Releases stacking up across a run of tapes, 12-inches and CDs since 2019, each woven through with anti-authoritarian poetry and scuffed-up outsider electronics. Her latest LP on Maloco is arguably the first proper switch-up – the same raw, percussive energy, but more exposed and vulnerable than ever before. We can't wait to see her grace the @cotchinternational stage alongside DJ Bassan and Afoma V. A proper celebration of soundsystem and diaspora inbound.

This SATURDAY @djstormdnb “First Lady of Drum & Bass.” - In dance music, few nicknames are as well-deserved as DJ Storm’s iconic title. From her early days as a raver at Heaven, witnessing the birth of Jungle and Drum n Bass, to her seminal work as a co-founder of the game-changing @metalheadzmusic label, to her continued status as a leading light for female DJs in a male-dominated scene, Storm - aka Jayne Conneely - has lived the life of a true trailblazer and pioneer. Her DJ Kicks mix alongside the late Kemistry helped propel DnB into the mainstream, and is considered a classic in the UK hardcore continuum cannon. A truly skilled DJ, she has graced the stages of every reputable electronic music festival and event you can imagine, and has even shared her knowledge via RA’s coveted The Art of DJing feature. For the last ten years, Cotch has been dedicated to highlighting underground sounds from across the world, joining the dots between global soundsystem cultures while nurturing the next wave of sonic innovators, all from the depths of London’s basements and industrial warehouses. Supported by Carhartt WIP from day one. From its origins at Rye Wax in Peckham to its current home at Ormside Projects, Cotch has continued to champion a spectrum of sounds, from overdriven baile funk and kuduro to drill-infused soca; guaracha and industrial dancehall to laser-sharp electro. This exploration has extended beyond London, with events in Johannesburg, Barcelona, and Medellín, alongside regular radio shows and a stream of label releases that have fostered local and global communities alike. As it steps into its tenth year, Cotch reflects on some of its highlights, with testimonials from those who’ve been along for the ride. The COTCH TEN celebrations continue with a huge link up with São Paulo -via-NYC collective and label, @tijolo_records , for their UK debut event 🌏🌎🌍 Pioneering the intersection between hardcore, breakbeat, and SP funk - specifically the raviest strains of mandelão - the label has put out seminal club releases from the likes of Evehive, Regal86, CERSV, and one of the city's true breakout stars of recent years; @rhrmusiq , who joins us for a deep dive into exactly why he's thought of as one of the leading lights of a vibrant Brazilian club scene. He will be joined by TIJOLO founder, producer and DJ @sixx4sixx . If that wasn't enough, we've called upon the UK DnB LEGEND that is @djstormdnb - a name that needs no introduction - but has shifted UK club culture several times over as a co-founder the seminal Metalheadz collective and label. COTCH resident @joecotch links up with regular b2b partner @felixzwanabell for a deep and wiggy last hour wormhole set, and hotly tipped rising selector @afomav shows why she's popping up on some of the best line ups in the city. In case we didn't make it clear.. this Saturday's COTCH TEN event is not your normal dance.. we're going fully immersive with installations, unique lighting rigs, chest-boxing sound and tongue-tingling food to make sure every sense is engaged from start to finish. We kick things off nice and early, deep and dubby, at 7pm, before lifting off into UK dancehall legends @saxonsoundsystem at 10pm, and ride it out all the way to 5am (4am real terms with the clocks going back that night) and deep down the wormhole 🌀🌀 Providing sound on the night, we've invited the incredible @formant_soundsystem , who will supply that additional pressure, bringing the raw physicality and high end clarity the music and you deserve. And who can step for 10 hours without the correct fuel? When it comes to the crossover between comforting and healthy, the Trinidadian double is goated. And when it comes to Trini doubles, there's nobody doing it better in SE than @dtdoubles .. they'll be cooking up fresh on site from doors, while stocks last. We're pouring our heart and souls into this one, going in on the details, creating the spaces that we want our music and community to not just exist but thrive in. Following that we have Curaçao-via-Amsterdam trailblazer @rozaly.music - an expert in all things soca / dennery segment / jab jab who has curated the forthcoming "Road Fever: New Generation Carnival Riddims " compilation which is a strong AOTY contender round these sides. Next up: a UK debut for Mexico City-raised, Berlin-based polyrhythm queen @__viiaan , an incredible producer specialising in all things wiggly and wobbly, fresh off a killer LP for DJ Plead's sumac label. @joecotch goes b2b with fellow globetrotter and Oroko Radio resident @felixzwanabell , following a string of wild afterparty sets from Johannesburg to Nairobi to Barcelona.
