Ed Sanders wrote in Investigative Poetry (1976) that a page is not a four sided void in which to practice zeroness. A couple months ago, I turned a previous four-sided void (as seen in Mail Blog Jun 19 2021) into a letterpress print during an @uglyducklingpresse workshop.
one last issue to conclude the first five years of Mail Blog. more to come. to sign up send correspondence to PO BOX 320032, Brooklyn, NY 11232 or [email protected]. Mail Blog is sent around the world and is always free. trades or donations are not required but happily accepted.
in august i spent a month at @strangefound as a gardener-in-residence where i took these photographs. along with a garden drawing, they adorn my new essay, Strange Gardens, about how watching the light in an unfamiliar place can help you feel better. you can read it on @dark.properties . thank you @willak and @themorgantown for hosting me, @pinkracehorse for visiting me and helping in the garden, and @petey_royale for reading an early draft.
Today’s @dark.properties dispatch is a diaristic essay by artist and horticulturist @cortnet_ , who stayed in one of the @strangefound cabins for a month this summer as a gardener-in-residence. In the essay, C.C. reflects on the death of a toxic gardening job, and digging into a strange garden as a way to re-find herself. Read the full essay + subscribe at the 🔗 in bio. ☀️ ☁️
