I’ve got a fun little guide in @adobe Design’s new zine about the future of creative work! Thanks @laurafeinstein and @bairrocks for the commission, this was fun. (Read the piece at the link in my bio, or in today’s @dark.properties dispatch 📕)
Meanwhile, zines and editorial projects are my favorite gigs these days and I have an opening for a new client or project starting in 2026. If your aligned org/brand needs a hand in the new year, hit my inbox!

I was on the radio talking about gardening as a form of world-building! Thanks @chicorynaturalist for having me on @hvnaturenuggets with Kingston Community Radio, where I got to gush about the magic of my yard stewardship journey, and talk a little about my newsletter @dark.properties , with shout outs to some featured folx @zoeschlanger@rowenwhite@clairelevans@samkbloch 🧚🏻🌱🌳🦋✨listen to the podcast version at the link in bio 🎧 🔗
Garden Party’s first collaborative event is coming up in 1 week! Hosted with @mirandajavid of @woodstock_land_conservancy and their Land Stewards, we will meet at Zena Cornfield for a sunset stroll through the wildflowers while discussing how WLC is managing opportunistic species like garlic mustard and mugwort. Anyone can join Garden Party and come to this meetup—just RSVP at the link in my bio 🌽🌾🌻
🦋 hiiiiii! 🐝My first-ever flower popup is this Saturday (tomorrow, 7/18) at @localgoodscatskills , from 12-5pm! I’ll have rooting arrangements, wrapped bouquets, and some other odds and ends tbd 😂
My garden has been slammed with downpours the past couple weeks but things are doing ok. This is my first year trying to upscale my chaotic gardening operations, and while I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m learning so much! It’s fun! Following my dreams, etc!
Come say hi tmrw if you’re in the neighborhood, or hit me up for flowers later this summer when I should have lots more :) I can always pull something together for you for pickup in West Shokan, Boiceville, or Woodstock 🤘
Back in 2018, I left a cushy tech job to move to the woods. When people asked why I was leaving, I told them I was going upstate to start an artist residency. While true, this didn’t tell the full story. What I should have said was, “My nervous system isn’t compatible with the city-busy, workaholic lifestyle that prioritizes capitalism-driven ROI over human and more-than-human thriving.” I wanted to find another way of living and being that didn’t make me feel bad; that didn’t make the Earth feel bad. Turns out, I wasn’t alone in this sentiment—not by a long shot.

𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘 is a new Catskills-based club for those who see planting & growing as vital tools for seeding collective abundance.
Starting with a seed swap in April, we’ll host skill-shares, grow-and-tells, work parties, and other plant-centric gatherings at members’ home gardens across the region (maybe yours?!). We will learn, grow, build, share, and party—all in the garden.
To join, sign up at the link in bio.

3 notes:
* This is an IRL club for gardeners from the Catskills & wider Hudson Valley.
* You don’t need a garden to participate! We welcome those who simply want to learn, support, & collaborate.
* 𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘 is free to join. Org’d by @willak and @dancefacehumanstew , we look forward to it growing into a cooperative, member-led club.

On intuition, ownership, expertise, and experimentation in herbalism.🌿🌸
A discussion with @willak about the commodification of health/wellness, and how it has led to a loss of personal agency in our own well-being, and the recognition that herbalism can be simple—requiring a turning inward in order to identify what needs healing before then turning to the natural world for remedies.

Garden 2k24: how it started vs. how it’s going! This year we dug a brand new “rock pit bed” and I grew [nearly] everything in it from seed. It finally looks something like what I imagined—an explosion of red, blue, yellow, and orange full of pollinators and herbal medicine.
Come visit in September, before it all dies! 💐✨☀️
COME VISIT OUR GARDEN!!! 🤪 I’ve essentially gone manic with it this year. And I’ve forced @themorgantown to help me tunnel through thousands of rocks to dig many, MANY holes; fended off many woodchucks; scorned swarming aphids; received many bloody black fly bites—but it’s all so fun. And, we are gonna be featured in our town’s garden tour this Saturday, 10-4pm, to benefit the @olivefreelibrary ! If you’re upstate, this weekend or another time this summer, stop by 💐 ! It’s been a hoot growing all this shit, mostly from seeds / bulbs / bare roots. I love it!
To go on the full garden tour, head to the @olivefreelibrary on Saturday to buy your ticket and map. If you just wanna see our garden, happy to DM the address. 🐝
