Join us on Monday, February 2nd at 3:30 pm for a talk by visiting artist George Wietor, followed by a workshop!
Since 2011, George Wietor has run @issuepress , an independent risograph print shop and publisher based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Issue Press explores how small-scale, artist-led publishing can open space for voices and ideas that exist outside commercial and institutional frameworks, celebrating the informal, the personal, and the unapologetic—using print as a site for autonomy, care, and community. Wietor has participated in major art book fairs from New York to Bergen, Norway, and its publications are held in collections at MoMA, the New York Public Library, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Michigan State University.
The free and public event is organized by the The Riso Room with the support of student activity fees by Mizzou's Organization Resource Group, and will take place in Swallow Hall Room 101 (talk) and FAB Room A131.

An open call for guidance by Detroit-based artist Pat Perry, MENTOR WANTED asks questions that do not have easy answers: how to live meaningfully, how to stay kind and ambitious at once, how to keep going when things feel unclear.
Each print invites participation. You are encouraged to respond in any form, including art, writing, reflection, advice, or interpretation. Your answers and artworks will become part of a growing conversation that may take shape as a future zine or book.
MENTOR WANTED is part artwork, part correspondence experiment, and part collective search for perspective in confusing times.
