The Devon Farm Business Awards 2026 celebrate the very best of Devon’s farming businesses, and we’re proud to support them as Principal Sponsor, as well as sponsor of the Best Family Farm Award. Over the next few days, we’ll be shining a spotlight on each of this year’s finalists ahead of the awards next week. First up is the Jordan family of Moortown Farm on Dartmoor. For more than 100 years, three generations of the family have worked together across their extensive hill farm, caring for sheep, cattle, ponies and horses while supporting the wider farming community through public and industry roles. Despite the challenges facing livestock farming on Dartmoor, the family continues to adapt and evolve, exploring new systems to help secure the future of the farm for generations to come. 🔎 Search 'Using teamwork to keep Dartmoor farming alive' to read the full story.

In light of Mental Health Awareness Week, we caught up with our very own Trudy who shared her top tips when it comes to farmer wellbeing. 🌾 Take time off the farm Even a short break, like breakfast at the market, can lift your mood and give you perspective. Stepping away helps you recharge and connect with others. 🚜 Stay safe and stay focused When stress builds, concentration can slip and that’s when accidents happen. Always prioritise safety around machinery and take regular breaks to stay alert. 🐄 Look after yourself and others Treat your own wellbeing with the same care you give your livestock. Simple acts like checking in with a neighbour and asking twice if they're okay can make a real difference. 👩🏻‍🌾 Just talk Talking openly about how you're feeling - good or bad - is a strength, not a weakness. If you need support, an extra helping hand or someone to talk to, swipe to view the details of organisations ready to listen and offer guidance.
