Last night, we were thrilled to gather for an inspiring evening at BAO’s Open Studio+ Workshop: Creative Costume Photography with the talented local photographer Bryan McGowan!
Guided by Bryan’s expertise, participants learned the art of transforming anime, cosplay, and costume photos into evocative portraits, mastering the use of light, shadow, and unique angles. The evening wasn’t just about capturing images; it was about telling stories that resonate with depth, emotion, and creativity.
Our heartfelt thanks to Bryan, the Brampton Arts Organization, and each participant who made the workshop such a memorable experience. The learning, connections, and energy shared reinforced the strength of our creative community and left us all with new skills and lasting inspiration. This workshop wouldn’t have been possible without each one of you, and for that, we’re grateful.

On this Autumn Equinox, we celebrate not only the changing of the seasons but also the dedication of the Quiet Place Plaque at Flower City Senior Campus. This serene spot, created for seniors and all Bramptonians, invites everyone to enjoy a moment in nature—whether to read, exercise, write, pray, or meditate. With over 70 seniors in attendance, the event marked the culmination of a decade-long journey by Brampton Senior Citizens Club 106, which worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.
Our deepest gratitude extends to the Quiet Place Plaque Dedication Ceremony Committee, Brampton Advance Funding, Bob Callaghan Flower City Senior Campus, Myrna Adams and Brampton Senior Council, Councillor John Sanderson, a long-time friend of Club 106, Brampton Monument Works, Sharon and Paul from the City of Brampton, and Jennifer Kane and her team at Flower City. Your contributions have made this peaceful haven possible.

art collectives and healing circles.
Visit The Club 106 at the upcoming Summer Concert at Flower City on June 9th, Springfest on June 14th at Century Gardens, or drop by Flower City on Thursday’s at 1-4pm to say hello to Roberta, Allan , Mary and yours truly.
