Making room for HER.
Currently our representation as women in the built environment is narrow at 12% yet impactful. As a whole we have held steady 20% of the leadership, but there is still room for us to grow.
HER skillsets can include not limited to:
- Communication
- Coordination
- Problem solving
- Multi-tasking
- Nurturing
- EQ
Its literally a win, win situation as our leaders continue to make room to intentionally diversify teams.
Making room for HER looks like:
- No tolerance policies
- Proper facilities
- Visibility & recognition
- Flexibility in schedules
- Career advancement
As you are building out your talent pipeline, being intentional in making sure your leadership teams can continuously empower the next generation of women leaders is essential.
2031's blunt reality of our workforce crisis will be in full effect before we know it. Let's continue to be advocates in ensuring that not only can we attract great talent, but we also can retain and develop talent.

During our Annual Conference in Santa Barbara, we partnered with @constructreach to host an inspiring “I Built This” experience for a group of students. They explored exciting career pathways across multiple industries and got a glimpse into what their future could hold.
After the workshop, students had the opportunity to attend our Vendor Fair, where they connected with industry professionals and began building relationships that could shape their careers.
