A week ago we launched our (allegedly) Pirate Radio station ‘OVERTHROW RADIO’. @computerjay and I had been planning this for over a year…the goal: 1. Gather our talented friends to speak up about what’s happening in our country. 2. Put it on vinyl with a fine art edition sleeve. 3. Donate profits to a good cause here in LA that can help families affected by ICE. - Needless to say it went really damn well. We made a whole album. @ztrip jumped in and helped us take it to a whole other level. It’s a classic protest album and you guys are gonna love it. We have live performances from @ogeverlast@chali_2na@imani_can@myka9@djnumark Joe Liemberg @comedianpinkfoxx and more from @lildee_raps@tash_of_tha_alkaholiks@opiohierosom@bluherfavcolor@reverielove ☠️☠️☠️ This is just a little recap but please stay tuned - this is a MAJOR EFFORT and I can’t wait to take you guys on the ride… Thank you @johnnysbarla for hosting the listening party! Hard to announce it on a day and at a time like this. But with the state of the world as of yesterday, The name couldn’t be more fitting in my opinion. The “Savage Planet Paradox” album is now available everywhere. The song you’re hearing right now is called “A Poison Set For Slow”.
New single out Friday 6/6 from @computerjay called “Black Smoke” from his new LP dropping later this month on @insectrecords . Link Timorese in the bayou place. “Savage Planet Paradox”—a project that pushes his sci-fi-drenched, analog-fueled sound series even further into the unknown. Released on a limited-edition blue cassette with a baby blue tinted case with original artwork by Glory, Gold & Glitter, the album is both a collector’s piece and an artifact from a parallel dimension.
Known to some as the lynchpin of Los Angeles beat scene, Computer Jay has always operated at the crossroads of hip-hop, funk, and experimental electronic music, creating soundscapes that feel like transmissions from an alternate reality.
