We’ve had some incredible sets played at the Community Function parties over the past few years so we thought we’d create a new mix series to relive those moments.
First up on the new Community Function Live series we have a mix from @amino8o8 recorded live at our party at the @pocketchangedetroit rooftop on August 2nd. Amino took control of the dance floor from the very start and had us locked in with her signature rolling basslines and textured percussions, we knew right away this was the mix we wanted to share with you all. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did :)
“Finishing my first run to NY & ATL I truly felt like this was going to be homecoming of sorts. Flew home with an abundance of inspiration and a strive to simply find comfortability and curiosity with my dancers. When preparing I kept in mind what would feel good in the sun overlooking Gratiot. The feeling of excitement when I arrived home into a warm embrace of this community is a core memory of summer 2025.
I’ve always wanted to play a Community Function and I truly feel like we all created this set to be what it was.

britty. is a Detroit-based DJ with a deep love for groove, space, and the energy of a good dance floor. Longtime dancer turned selector, her sets are inspired by being locked in the groove with sounds that move through minimal house, techno, breakbeats, and left-field textures.
“This mix is a love letter to the Marble Bar patio dance floor. Inspired by late nights that melt into early mornings, locked deep in a groove beneath the disco skull, only to be released when the first rays of sunlight catch the mirrors above. Artist Profile: renai
Ian Hirsch’s project “renai” (@ianrenai ), short for renaissance man, aspires to weave a variety of his personal influences into something more expressive with each production and DJ set. Having played cello and guitar for 14 years, he aims to maintain the musicality in dance music through a synthy, groovy, and spacey atmosphere.
A designer of more than just music, he has played a major role in the formation of Diffuse (@diffuse.dc ) in Washington DC, hear + there (@hear__and__there ) with parties across the US and has recently launched rezonate (@rezonate__app ), an app to help curators and fans connect over crowd sourced videos.

Brick (@brick.909 ) is a San Francisco–based producer and DJ known for his unique sound that’s both nostalgic and forward thinking. He is also a co-founder of the San Francisco–based label and studio, Capp Street Project. 🚨 Event Update 🚨
We have had a lineup change for our event so we are reposting with the updated details. We’re thrilled to welcome @hypemelotv and @collidingpins to the lineup! Below are the details from our initial post.
Community Function is happy to present a new party series: SHIFTED. As we return to our roots of throwing underground events a new venue calls for a new sound, so we are…shifting 😏 to a night full of trance, acid & breaks. We’ve called in a lineup stacked with some of Detroit’s best to rock the dance floor and have the sound system bumping into the early morning.
We’ve always held the belief that the crowd of our events is just as important as the music, the environment, and the sound. To show love to our community entry to the event will be free before 1am. We also have $5 presale tickets allowing anytime entry, they are available on RA and will remain there until the day of the event. If you don’t have a presale ticket and come through after 1am, we’ll also have tickets at the door for $30.
We can’t wait to see you all again and welcome summer back to Detroit 🌞
