My proudest creative accomplishment "No Floors" is finally out on @apocalypseraveculture and I thought I'd come on here and talk a bit about it.
In a room with no floors, there is only edge. That is the central idea behind the title: no safety, no rules. This is certainly electronic music, but in so many ways a return to my roots in experimental noise and punk rock. I can remember seeing videos where you could see society's reaction to punk rock and no wave where the public actively tried to get it banned, feeling it was obscene and furthermore threatened the very fabric of the world they knew. That is the energy that was coursing through me when writing this.
Fun fact, each one of these tracks were single day pieces. The entire release just feels like one big mural, a pile of glittery pineal vomit. And as much as this body of work feels like a statement, standing in stark contrast to the commercialized dance music we are all inundated by, it's very much just me allowing who I am as an artist and a human to flow out into the tangible. I've never written something I've felt so self validated by.
Thanks everyone for reading and listening. I hope y'all like it, but honestly I really don't care π π

Any ff8 fans out there? Could play this all day long. One of the first areas in a video game I'd just put my controller down and listen to the music as a kid.
Me and my hair are playing my favorite underground house rave series MSG on Jan 17th. Really trying to branch out from my usual style lately, so make sure to swing thru to see what kinda tricky shit I pull. Other super talented mfs track selecting include:

Well I decided to go public with this so here it goes. As many of you know I used to have a hardcore/noise rock band back in 08/09, called Roger Mortis. In the summer of 09, my band members decided to move to Florida for reasons I won't get into here and that was pretty much the end of that band. I was able to carry on with new members carrying the same name for the rest of 09 but that's a different story. With the founding members we recorded an EP and with the members impending departure we really didn't end up doing anything with it besides burning copies and giving them to our friends. For a very long time it seemed as tho this music was lost to time, every copy being either destroyed, lost, files on hard drives that crash etc. I had to basically accept it was something you either got to see or you didn't and lived in my memory alone.
A few days ago, my beloved friend @zkthn who played bass in the second incarnation of Roger Mortis actually found a cd copy of this EP. He was able to rip it and send me the files and for the first time in what must be 16 years I was able to hear the songs I thought I'd never hear again. To say I was overjoyed would be an understatement. The lyrics certainly feel like something a 19 year old would have written but the music I gotta say, holds up pretty well and I remain proud of this achievement. Plus it feels like a relic of the Detroit punk scene of the late naughts.
So, in order to preserve this I decided to make a Bandcamp for my long lost project. That way, corrupted hard drives, scratched cdr's be damned, it's on the Internet now. You can listen to it if you'd like! No hard feelings if this means nothing to you. I think it's pretty damn cool tho. We played so many incredible shows, met so many amazing people, by far the most important to me being my best friend Neil. So thanks for finding this Neil!!! I owe you some durian no question.
Going to put a link in the tree for any and all who are interested. Thanks gang, much love, over and out π«‘
