PLANNING APPEAL WON!
We are so pleased that the Planning Inspector agreed with our interpretation of Trafford's SPD4 guidance and approved our designs for this mid-century home in Sale.
We have plenty of experience navigating the planning process and some approvals are more hard fought than others.
We always encourage an open dialogue with local planning authorities. In this instance we had agreed to make some compromises on the design however, disagreed with their overall assessment.
On deciding the appeal the Planning Inspectorate stated that our scheme would "respect the character and identity of the locality in terms of design, siting, size, scale and materials used. It would further be consistent with the principles of good design in Section 12 of the National Planning Policy Framework", and planning was granted.

Reflecting on NSPF’s first year as a tangible movement. SCALE was a huge achievement.
@nspf.uk started as an idea cooked up by Tom from @commonpractice.studio and Dan @architectureunknownltd in an ambition to shine a light on the architectural talent the North West.
Internally we get together for regular round tables throughout the year to discuss how we can better our practice and the industry by working together.
Publicly through a combined effort we put on SCALE festival to showcase some featured projects from within the forum. A big thanks to all the hands that contributed to installing the exhibition and dismantling for relocation.
A special mention goes to Graham @studiomutt and Simon of @turner.works for driving the design and curating the SCALE exhibition on an economic budget with creativity and joy.

7 APPROVALS IN A MONTH!

Some very happy clients and great successes this March, from Chorlton to Chester, and Oldham to Wigan we've been slaying applications across the northwest. We'll be sharing more details of these projects as they progress towards site in the coming months.
