PAN 沖縄の屋外ランドスケープは、DOMINO ARCHITECTS(@comemochi )と造園ユニット veig(@kk_doom & @yosuke.nishio )の協働により設計されています。
The outdoor landscape of PAN Okinawa is designed through a collaboration between DOMINO ARCHITECTS and the landscape unit, veig. As a team of architects, researchers, and landscape designers, they carefully inscribe drawings onto the land and engage with the site’s vegetation from a regenerative perspective.
DOMINO ARCHITECTS’s representative example, “Bankei Farm,” is a ranch space that evolves alongside its ecosystem and continues to transform through its community.
Meanwhile, in their project, “Rötei (In-Leaking Garden),” veig draws out the autonomous growth of plants under artificial “shadows,” making visible the ambiguity that exists between the natural and the artificial.
Through the collaboration of these two distinct approaches, anticipation grows for how the nature of Yanbaru will take shape as a garden landscape, and for the unexpected events and relationships that may emerge from it.

A model for preserving and observing a thought experiment
There are several spaces I’ve long imagined. A looping aerial walkway formed by linking together the movable jetways found at airports. One could walk forever along that functional, symbolic, fleeting slope between passing through the boarding gate and stepping onto the aircraft. Though without any entrances or exits, you would never actually board a plane.
