#MeccaMoves! Earth Day 2026 HBCU Climate Ventures at @howard1867 as a proud alum was a powerful gathering of great people working in sustainability on all levels from students to professors to entrepreneurs. @arthausagency did it again with her outstanding gift for bringing us all together and steering the conversation around circularity, AI and sustainability, renewable energy and more.I moderated The Regenerative Thread panel with these dynamic women making a difference in their communities through education, using traditional dying methods, and refurbishing our beloved sneakers like no other. Her energy is unmatched and the shoes in this collection are a perfect punctuation to her storied career as a stylist, image architect, and culture-maker I had to wear the pair of espadrille’s I had from June’s first ever shoe collection, bought many moons ago but still so good! As a proud Howard Alum, #HBCUClimateVentures is an initiative founded by @arthausagency for students of HBCUs to “see themselves in the full spectrum of climate innovation, from material innovation and fashion supply chain optimization, to brand building and storytelling” among many other ways. Given that African Americas are disproportionately impacted by climate and environmental hazards, our inclusion in the fight for climate action is critical and it starts with young people.Color Coded Style’s mission has always been to uplift + showcase Black and Brown designers in addition to promoting + educating my audience about sustainable fashion, thus being apart of this venture is a no brainer and even more meaningful to me because I am a product of one of the best HBCUs.Get your tickets today! About last night…I’ve followed @bernardjames for a few years now and last year I created a post in homage to the Black-owned jewelry brands that I love and featured Bernard’s Mirror Pendant Necklaces on Telsha + Justin, a beautiful campaign celebrating Black love and fine jewelry all in one. I also featured one of my fav pieces of his, the Spina Diamond Ring wrapped around flower stems and I got to experience the ring and the necklaces in person last night - Chef’s Kiss!Seeing Black jewelers support each other was a highlight of the evening.
