Label The Muse was born from motherhood. Not as a theme or an aesthetic, but as a desire to hold memory of the woman the world told me I’d have to mourn. It began when I looked at my life and decided that becoming a mother did not mean becoming invisible. That the things women carried, literally and figuratively, should be worthy of her in all her transitions. To my most prized possessions: Egan & Basquiat. The Muse Silhouette on the Bince bag was probably one of the most intentional design choices I’ve made since creating this brand. When I was sketching her, I wasn’t thinking about hardware. I was thinking about form. About lineage. About the way women carry everything: families, brands, memory, desire. There’s a reason she rests in your palm the way she does. Behind every big dream, is a little audacity and a whole lot of faith. I was 6 months pregnant when I decided I wanted to debut my brand at Paris fashion week. And I was 10 months postpartum when I made I made it come true.
